Sarah & Hillary smiling? Rasmussen reports Obama’s approval numbers plummet to historic low of 42%
The Examiner ^ | June 16, 2010 | Raj Rajagopalan

Rasmussen Reports, which has been tracking President Obama’s job approval numbers ever since he became the President, released shocking numbers today.

President Obama’s job approval has dropped to historic low of 42%.

Yes, only 42% of American voters say they approve of President Obama’s performance. An overwhelming majority of Americans, 57% of them, disapprove of the job President Obama is doing.

Yet another index that Rasmussen has been tracking is called the Approval Index. This is the difference between the percentage of voters who “Strongly Approve” of the job the President is doing, and the percentage of voters who “Strongly Disapprove” of the job the President is doing.

Rasmussen found that only 24% of American voters “Strongly Approve” of his job, while 44% “Strongly Disapprove”. This gives Obama a huge negative approval index of -20.

These numbers should be extremely worrisome to President Obama.

These numbers should be music to the ears of Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton.

Sarah Palin is fast emerging as the “Heir to Ronald Reagan”, and is one of the top favorites to win the 2012 Republican nomination. Conservatives see her as the “Next Ronald Regan”. Sarah Palin should be fastening her seat belts, given the downward spiral of Obama’s job numbers; she stands a good chance to move to the White House in 2012.

The Clintons may be rejoicing too, looking at Obama’s pathetic approval numbers. You never know, Hillary may challenge Obama in 2012 Democratic primaries. After all, Hillary lost the 2008 Presidential bid by a razor thin margin. After all, even Republicans would agree that Hillary would have made a better President than “Incompetent, Inexperienced Chicago Thug” Obama, any day, and any night.

Very sound logic and quite plausible.

I was also thinking she might just cut to the quick and arrange to be out of the country when O, Biden, Nasty, and Byrd all happen to be in the same place at the same time. Then she would be the incumbent representing a "martyred" party. Hey, it worked for LBJ.

The number of things I can list as being inconceivable for her or her husband to pull still stands at zero.

I think Franklin Pierce, in favor of James Buchanan, qualifies:

I don’t think the dem opponent will determine Sarah’s decision.

It might actually be a good thing to run against Hillary.

People who don’t want any woman would have to choose which woman.

Calling Sarah Palin "the heir" to Ronald Reagain only points up the fact that Palin can't run on her own record but has to co-opt that of the most beloved figure in conservative politics to bolster her own checkered and ambiguous history.

Plus, it's a travesty to the memory of RR to have his legacy used and abused like it was a prop on a stage. It reminds me Palin's most recent outrage to use The Iron Lady for nothing more than a photo-op in her potential campaign and fundraising literature.

Palin, if you want to be taken seriously by voters in a presidential election, run on your own record and quit stealing the legacy of giants that have gone on before you to make yourself appear larger and more imposing than your own history reflects.

Both Reagan and Thatcher did more on one week than Palin has accomplished in several years, book sales, Twittering and Facebooking excluded.

I look for Hillary to resign after November once the loser 0bama is exposed to all by his losing his political power. She will label him the destroyer of the Dem party and she needs to bring it back.

Then Obama does his LBJ "I Shall Not Seek..." speech.

To be kind Hillary is doing less than a stellar job as Secretary of State. I think she has ticked off a lot of what were our friends in the world.

It will be non-stop misogyny on FR! Some of the fellas would sooner write in a candidate than vote for a woman.

I think she’s bored as hell, and likely trying to broker deals with some countries as a way to get hidden campaign cash.

"His fumbling of the Israel situation would give Hillary perfect justification for resigning."

Nonsense. That shark-eyed, Palie-hugging bitch is right there with him on this issue.

Most of those men have performance issues. I would vote for the right women any day of the week well most likely on Tuesday

It truly is amazing. We have 300 million people in this country and this is the best we could have come up with? The stupidity of the American electorate knows no bounds.

I like your analysis. The Democrats have hitched themselves to an electorate whose stupidity they have carefully cultivated for generations by trapping them on the Welfare/Government School Plantation. Now that electorate is so racist and stupid that the Democrats can’t free themselves from even a moron-Communist like Obama.

No problem!

Because we all know that conservative women are not “women.”

The left instructed us on that, about Thatcher.

Finale “Those Made Miserable

Do you hear the people sing
Lost in the valley of the night?
It is the music of a people
who are climbing to the light.

For the wretched of the earth
there is a flame that never dies.
Even the darkest night will end
and the sun will rise.

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the BARACK-ade
is there a world you long to see?

Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free!!

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!

When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When NOVEMBER comes!

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the BARACK-ade
is there a world you long to see?

Do you hear the people sing?
Say, do you hear the distant drums?
It is the future that they bring
when NOVEMBER comes...
NOVEMBER comes!

I conflated, with minor edits, the two versions of "Do you hear the people sing?" in Les Mis. It's sung to the finale version. I left out what I did, not because I disagreed with any of it - I love and endorse all of both versions! - but in the hope that the purple people beaters will spare us the "Blood of the martyrs," unlike the French history from which Hugo based his superb novel.
