Sarah & Hillary smiling? Rasmussen reports Obama’s approval numbers plummet to historic low of 42%
The Examiner ^ | June 16, 2010 | Raj Rajagopalan

Rasmussen Reports, which has been tracking President Obama’s job approval numbers ever since he became the President, released shocking numbers today.

President Obama’s job approval has dropped to historic low of 42%.

Yes, only 42% of American voters say they approve of President Obama’s performance. An overwhelming majority of Americans, 57% of them, disapprove of the job President Obama is doing.

Yet another index that Rasmussen has been tracking is called the Approval Index. This is the difference between the percentage of voters who “Strongly Approve” of the job the President is doing, and the percentage of voters who “Strongly Disapprove” of the job the President is doing.

Rasmussen found that only 24% of American voters “Strongly Approve” of his job, while 44% “Strongly Disapprove”. This gives Obama a huge negative approval index of -20.

These numbers should be extremely worrisome to President Obama.

These numbers should be music to the ears of Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton.

Sarah Palin is fast emerging as the “Heir to Ronald Reagan”, and is one of the top favorites to win the 2012 Republican nomination. Conservatives see her as the “Next Ronald Regan”. Sarah Palin should be fastening her seat belts, given the downward spiral of Obama’s job numbers; she stands a good chance to move to the White House in 2012.

The Clintons may be rejoicing too, looking at Obama’s pathetic approval numbers. You never know, Hillary may challenge Obama in 2012 Democratic primaries. After all, Hillary lost the 2008 Presidential bid by a razor thin margin. After all, even Republicans would agree that Hillary would have made a better President than “Incompetent, Inexperienced Chicago Thug” Obama, any day, and any night.

"It’ll be really interesting to see if Hillary runs a primary on him."

I say this every time someone suggest just that, but...so long as Obama is black, there is NO WAY he can be unseated as the Dem nomination. As much as his approvals have fallen, he still maintains something north of 90% black support, and 75% Latino support. Because of the demographics of the Democrat party, it's virtually impossible - mathematically speaking - for Obama to lose the nomination with that kind of minority support.

I suspect Hilary understands this dynamic, which is why she won't run. BUT, I could see Biden becoming "sick" and being replaced by Hilary. That's a real possibility, if she wants it.

A'la Ted Kennedy in 1980.

Timing is everything so it will be interesting to see when and over what issue she leaves the cabinet. My guess is before June 2011 and the issue will be Obama's response to Israel's decapitation strike on the Iranian government, nuclear facilities, and Revolutionary Guard command structure.

If what you say is true about Sarah Palin then I sure as hell don’t want her as President

Thanks.

We'll see, somehow I don't get the feeling Sarah is into identity politics, rather she has a conservative agenda she'd like to see America take up again. Hillary doesn't share that in the slightest.

Landshark is a beer........:-)

He has ‘temporarily’ angered some of his base. The environmentalists who aren’t tuned in to the ‘benefits’ of the oil spill are angry. They will bounce back when they hear the talking points about what good it will do in the end for Odumbo to have gone golfing while the Gulf filled with oil.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if environmental groups are going to get some of that 20 billion dollar BP money to buy their support for Barry.

It wouldn't surprise me if that happen. It would be straight out of the Chicago political machine playbook.

Three months ago I posted a vanity (sorry) stating that NOW was the right time for a Dimocrat to stand up on his hind legs and openly challenge Obama in 2012. Ozero is wounded. I titled the vanity, ‘Blood in the Water!” I guess it should have been “Blood and Oil in the Water.” If you’re a eager-to-get-ahead DemonRat, CALL HIM OUT NOW!

September 2010. If she waits until after the election she will be associated with the pounding they take in November. If she drops out in September or October she gets to yell Told-Ya-So on all the election night broadcasts. You are correct about the cause being some Israeli preemptive strike. Might be against Iran, Lebanon or sinking a fleet of fake relief ships. It doesn't matter what, just so long as it shows Obama's strategy in the Middle East doesn't work.

One more reason for an early dropout. If the oil well is still going in September it will be hit by a Hurricane as some point along the vast stretch of coast contaminated. Think black Katrina. If that happens everybody associated with the admin is going to bolt if they can possibly get out before the people with the pitchforks and torches can get in.

Hey, just a hunch. Sarah would probably be excited about running against Hillary for all I know. I think a Hillary vs. Sarah race would be awesome.

This is a Union slush fund with MUCH MUCH MORE to come. The people of the Gulf coast won’t see a nickel but SEIU will be rolling in dough as will Acorn.

A'la Ted Kennedy in 1980.

Almost any time there has been a primary challenge to a sitting president, he's lost the general. Johnson 68, Bush 92, Carter 80.

I think you are confusing (perhaps purposely) Sarah Palin’s praise of Hillary in 2008 in an attempt to lure her supporters to vote Mccain/Palin. I doubt Palin would have any second thoughts about taking on Hillary.

If Hillary is the 2012 Dem nominee, blacks will stay home in droves.

Not confusing anything. Like I said, just a hunch. As for Obama I think one of two things: one, he’ll not run again, or two, he’ll do something to insure an election doesn’t happen so he retains power.
