Obama could have called for a moon shot tonight to make a transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy, and he failed to do that. He made his first-ever speech in the Oval Office, and he had all three networks at the 8 p.m. slot, and he didnt make good use of it.
The speech was flat and uninspiring. He recited a litany of the things the administration has done to try to bring the spill under control, but it was a rehash of things the public has already heard. Yes, hes going to make BP pay. Thats good as far as it goes. But he didnt use the moment to assert a resolute sense of command.
Nor did he use it to call on Americans to make the sacrifices that will be necessary to make the transition from petroleum to cleaner fuels. Yes, he said a little about it. But he didnt even endorse the energy bill currently languishing in the Senate.
The president has wasted a crisis.
Obama has taken the bait. Liberal morons whose belief system takes government to the level of religion believe the government can solve every problem known to man. It can not. Government is inherently a big mess. Obama now owns the oil spill. He is the Big Bwana in charge. His minions will not be able to understand why he can not stop it.
Obama can’t lean left enough for them, right enough for us and he can’t even do center for the fence riding, splintered butt doodlers.
Super puppet boy— empty, spineless, 8th wonder of the world.
God save me, but I hope Obama’s father and mother are spending a little time in hell— they built an emotionally crippled, angry, hurt little boy that is now unleashed on the world.
We are all made to pay penitence for the sins and selfishness of his parents.
There’s a Tracy Chapman song ‘Remember the Tinman’ makes me think of Obama.
I was struck by Obamao using the moon shot reference too,
this from the man who just destroyed any dream of manned American space flight in the near future.
Obummer is creating 20 Billion slush fund for Acorn to spend on political items in the Gulf region. Anything to win for Obummer and the rat party
O’BUMMER IS TOAST. . . .
Liberals are completely deluded. 100%.
straight on ping
We cannot simply move to “cleaner fuels” with a “little sacrifice” short of going 3rd world... Unless these idiots want to start building nuclear power plants all over the country there is no alternative to oil currently available.
Lefties call conservatives “anti science” while the simple fact is lefties give magical powers to science well beyond what knowledge is available today. Just wave the wand and make it so... In the mean time we'll all live a 3rd world existence which one can only assume is their real intention...
And right now it's either death or bulunga.
“If America can cancel the space program, we can cancel this oil spill!”
Almost no petroleum is employed in power generation. Probably less than 2% of our total KwH are generated by fuel oil.
Coal, natural gas and hydro are chief sources of energy.
I guess we are supposed to walk and ride bikes until they get the windmill and solar attachments for our asses up and running.
There is no affordable and viable move to green energy because it ain’t ready yet.
Obozo can’t be dictator fast enough for them. The left are bonafide kooks.
Obozo is on very thin ice before he falls in the treason hole with a growing majority.
The love affair is over.
That said, libs like battered spouses, will be back for more as soon as the midterm elections appear in sight.
It makes me sick to know that everyone had all of the information about his deadbeat dad and his mother dumping him in HI at a young age. You pray for children like this and help them as best you can...YOU DO NOT ELECT THEM PRESIDENT!

I just wanted to let anyone know who may not have seen this or noted it:
Of all the bizarre things, I saw Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, and Howard Fineman heavily criticize Obamas speech on one of the MSNBC after-speech shows last night. It was unreal. All of these three losers have been water carriers for Obama all along. It was truly beautiful to see what I saw.
(I don't hold any hopes of this treatment continuing, but it was good to see.)
