I guess all other problems in Sacto have been solved, if they have time to waste on this.

I can believe they are doing this after all the illegals we have sent their way since the governor signed SB1070. What a bunch of ungrateful bass turds.

I just ordered stuff from this company, UMI Direct, and was surprised to find they were in Arizona. So we ordered more from them. :-)

Living in CA and knowing our problems I think we can use our time much better than to boycott AZ.
If CA would do what AZ is doing maybe WE CAN BE THE NUMBER ONE STATE AGAIN IN EDUCATION, JOBS, ETC, ETC,
but no................CA is happy being 49th in education and losing jobs daily and having a bunch of boobs in Sac. really messing up our state.......I say don’t worry about AZ and what they are doing worry about your own backyard.
IT IS A BIG FAT MESS!

This is getting old.

Almost everyone knows that sanctions are mostly symbolic. What are they not going to do now, eat iceberg lettuce?

The true intent of their sanctions is to suck up to the hispanic voting block. In doing that, they are making an alliance that will hurt them far more that the boycott will hurt Arizona.

The bottom line, is they are perpetuating all the conditions that left their state with a lousy credit rating and on the verge of bankruptcy.

An aside: I learned today from a person who works for a major National Truckload Carrier Headquartered in Phoenix that they are suffering considerable sabotage to their equipment, specifically at Truck Stops, because of the “Phoenix, Arizona” under the name of their trucking company on the doors of their trucks, and on their trailers.

The Sacramento City Council voted 6-1 Tuesday night to enact economic sanctions against Arizona in response to that state's new immigration laws.

Well, that'll show 'em.

Save your money, Sacramento— you’ll need it to support the hundreds of thousands of illegals who are now flocking to your state instead of Arizona. :)

I suspect that the councilpersons were leaned on from higher authorities. (Which excuses nothing.)

One wonders, could the WH have anything (however indirectly) to do with this?

Asked at a morning press conference whether the city would consider expanding its boycott should other states adopt laws similar to the one in Arizona, Mayor Kevin Johnson said, "what I don't want us to do as a council is to make a knee-jerk reaction that is not well thought out, especially with the impacts that it may have here locally, the impacts that it may have on other states."

What a stupid answer.
Mayor Kevin Johnson. Is he the same Mayor Kevin Maurice Johnson who's friends with Obama? The one caught in the Americorps scandal that Gerald Walpin was fired for going after? Sacramento can be proud. Obama and his friends are thugs, no different from those running African countries into the ground.

No State shall, without the Consent of the Congress, lay any Imposts or Duties on Imports or Exports, except what may be absolutely necessary for executing it's inspection Laws: and the net Produce of all Duties and Imposts, laid by any State on Imports or Exports, shall be for the Use of the Treasury of the United States; and all such Laws shall be subject to the Revision and Controul of the Congress.

Article 1, section 10 of the US Constitution

I don't think what they are doing is legal.

Isn’t Sacramento like, BROKE?

Glad they’re tackling their problems head on like this.
