Mark Kirk's drive to turn his exemplary military service into a political liability continues today, with a rebuke from the Pentagon first reported on a blog that's been chipping away at the candidate, and picked up by the AP.
Air Force Major April Cunningham tells blogger Terry Welch:
In December 2008, Commander Kirk, while on active duty, participated in video discussions in the media about the unfolding situation involving then-Governor Blagojevich of Illinois. Members of the Armed Forces on active duty may not participate in television discussions as an advocate for or against a partisan political party, candidate, or cause.
In July 2009, while on active duty in the Washington area, either Commander Kirk or a staff member posted a "twitter" to his Senate campaign web site that indicated he was on duty at the National Military Command Center. At the time, Commander Kirk was a candidate for the Senate. Candidates for political office may not participate in any campaign activities while on active duty. They may not update or revise their websites, and they must inform their campaign staff of the applicable restrictions....
Commander Kirk was counseled about each of his violations after they occurred and signed a statement acknowledging the limitations on his ability to participate in campaign activities while on active duty. He was required to complete this acknowledgement before being allowed to begin active duty in December 2009.

More Kirk good news....
Am tempted to write in Rocket J. Squirrel next November.
I hate this state SO much...
I was resolved to accept Mark Kirk even though he’s a RINO, but at least I thought he was an honest RINO.
Mark Kirk is the kind of Republican I tolerate, not support with enthusiasm. But he’s becmoing more intolerable as the days go by. This mess should have been resolved at least a week ago.
A third party conservative would have a real chance in this election.
It’s a certainty, that I will not vote for either of the two current candidates.
Mark Kirk should drop out of the race and let Pat Hughes take his place.

=======================================
Mark Kirk, Mr. Heroic Patriotic Military Expertise War Hero. (Or at least how the campaign script was supposed to go)
Boy, the GOP establishment sure knows how to pick those "electable" RINOs in "blue states". Look at the track record here... Topinka, Sauerberg, and now Kirk... best we can get in Illinois, right?
If this keeps up he’ll not only be radioactive but hurt the rest of the ticket...
Only 17 percent of Republicans think Kirk told the truth

New poll indicates majority of IL voters reject both Giannoulias and Kirk

That sounds good to me.
If Rep. Kirk drops out of the race, the best candidate would be Rep. Roskam. If that happens, State Sen. Millner should run for Roskam’s House seat.
LOL Billy I forgot about Sauerberg he was a non entity, Mark Kirk makes Judy Baar Topinka look like Barry Goldwater.
Thank God we have Bill Brady I will guarantee this today, Bill Brady will win the race.
As far as Al Capone and the lying rino, i couldn't careless. I'm just going to pray the white sox start playing better and the bears are good so I can distract myself from this crap.
If I ever get misinformed again about a RINO please request that I get shock therapy.
Thanks :D
Hey atleast we have the Blackhawks to celebrate. I always try to make something positive out of the mess that we have ourselves in.
I got my first ticket in my life from Crook County Sheriffs for speeding. They are out in full force because the county and state is BROKE!!!
So now I have to go out and buy a damn radar detector.
Fieldmarshaldj and Billy have you guys heard anything about the increase of Cook County and State Police because atleast for me, it is quite noticeable.
I was wondering if you guys heard anything about this BS.
I’d vote any candidate who is PRO-LIFE, PRO-FAMILY, PRO-BUSINESS. If Mark Kirk dropped out of the race, it would be an answer to prayer.
If that would to happen and a Conservative took his place, it would energize the party!
Cut this state in half.
I haven’t heard that any republican leader wants Kirk to leave the race. I think that there’s a 10% chance that he’ll drop out.
