South Carolina Democratic candidate Vic Rawl announced Monday hell lodge a protest against the June 8 primary vote that handed the little-known Alvin Greene the Democratic nomination for Senate.
Citing a cloud hanging over the result, Rawl said his 18-percentage-point loss to Greene who showed few signs of running an operational campaign warrants further investigation in order to ensure confidence in the states election system.
There is a cloud over South Carolina, that affects all of our people, Democrats and Republicans, white and African-American alike. At this point, the people of our state do not have the basic confidence that their vote will be counted, Rawl said.
The strange circumstances surrounding Tuesdays vote require a thorough investigation. For better or worse, this protest process is the only platform currently available for that investigation, he continued.
The former lawmaker outlined slightly different reasons for the protest than were originally offered by his campaign.

the June 8 primary vote that handed the little-known Alvin Greene the Democratic nomination for Senate
Kind of an odd phrasing. Green was *elected*. Nothing was "handed" to him.
Perhaps this is the result of the Rats being a rag tag group of uninformed voters. Seems to me that the same voters who went for Obama, would be just as tempted to go for this guy over the white racist who thinks the job ought to be his.
Perhaps only to point this out...but the Air Force and Army both accepted Alvin Greene...and he wasn’t illiterate, mentally handicapped or incompetent. This arugment won’t work...and a number of South Carolinians will simply stay home if Alvin is kicked out of the running. These guys who stay home? Democrats. Think about that...they won’t vote for their Democratic country sheriff, or their democratic state representative, or the democratic candidate for county commission. So it’s a lose-lose-lose scenario if they go down this path.
LOL!!! Good catch!
If I spent tens of thousands of $$ on my campaign and lost to a mental retard (their words, not mine) who didn’t even campaign, I would be harder to find than the Kenyan’s Hawaiian Birth Certificate.
See how racist democrats are?
Mr. Greene said it took him 2 yrs to save that money.
I much preferred the simpler days when it was just about overturning the will of the people.
