Two Iranian ships intended to head for Hamas-controlled Gaza are waiting for their government's approval to challenge Israel on the high seas, escorted by "volunteer marines" that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to send "to teach Israelis a lesson."
An Iranian Red Crescent official said the two ships are waiting for the Iranian foreign ministry to give the green light for launching, according to the French news service AFP, quoting the Iranian Mehr news service. The Red Crescent said a third ship probably would join the fleet.
Red Crescent official Mojtaba Majd also claimed that more than 100,000 Iranians have signed up to board the ships, but only those with "expertise" would be accepted. Majd did not define the area of expertise required.
Ali Shirazi, the Revolutionary Guards's spokesman for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said it was "Iran's duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza."

Well .. I’m about ready to ask FOX if they’re part of McCain’s campaign .. seeing as how they have him on every few days, and NEVER have Hayworth on at all.
Sick of it!
Thanks AdmSmith.
That's the good news.
The bad news is, the road doesn't go much further.
I saw him on yesterday evening, and the interviewer interrupted him constantly. Hayworth ended with a comment like, “I will get this border under control...”, and the interviewer actually said, “Well, Senator McCain wasn’t able to be here, but I know he would say the same thing.”
Honestly, I wanted to reach through the tube and choke the guy.
I think it was Chris Wallace, but I may be mistaken. I watched a number of things on FoxNews over the last 24 hours and I may have confused the host. BTW, Hayworth was not the sole guest. I tuned in late and am not sure the exact focus of the segment.
You touch on an important point. It’s a very sore one with the both of us.
You cold simplify it even more. If you just want a coastal defense weapon, how about a super-stealthy robotic submersible? Load it with whatever weapons load is required for the mission and launch it underwater from a coastal base. Feed it continuous GPS updates on the target’s location and let it seek and destroy.
This person admitted they were moving wealth back to Viet Nam as they saw the Hand writing on the wall. I would do it for you, alas, my new computer and I are having problems with the cut and paste thingy.
I usually watch FOX News Sunday - and I don’t remember Hayworth being on.
But .. I think it was one of the MSM - like Face the Nation or one of those. I recall seeing an ad for it.
Well .. here’s a secret I’ve learned. When a program is on the air live, you can go to “on air” on their home page and when you get inside, you can send the program an email. I’ve used it several times and it seems to work quite well.
The worst example was when one of Hannity’s usual left wing hacks made the statement, “... and Bush stole the election”.
I went ballistic .. went to the on-air email and let them have it. Names, dates, facts and facts and facts. What really totally ticked me off .. NOBODY SAID ANYTHING CONTRARY .. they just let the statement stand. I was not nice about that .. saying somebody should have called him on that outrageous lie!
Guess what .. I’VE NEVER HEARD ANYBODY MENTION THAT INFORMATION EVER SINCE.
This type of thing is just typical of the left. They just throw out their bombs and many on the right do not have the courage to challenge them. Sad.
I’ve seen the same thing, and I think your suggestion is a good one. Those stink bombs have me screaming at the screen, and the leftists just love to drop one of those particularly around the end of the program.
The show should be halted and those addressed before it continues.
Furthermore, I would led the guest know, that if they made an insupportable charge moments before the end of the show, they would be black-balled for a year after the incident unable to return.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Sounds like fun. The Red Cresent waits for Iranian approval, interesting. To sail with armed combatants. A big no no. Out front, publicly, and no one says a word. Where is the Red Cross on this?
Yeah, I agree .. but they use those issues to keep people coming back to the program. Some of them, Hannity for one, thrive on argument.
Can’t stand most of it .. I’d much rather watch Beck because he’s so informative and he rarely has objectionable or argumentative people on his program.
The teachers will become the taught
I’m having a hard time with Beck. I decided to give him a try. The first three shows were so good, I wanted to record them to show to others. On about the fourth (3rd or 4th), he addressed our national debt, and started ripping our expenditures on the military. He couched it with the trappings of corporate greed, and loyalty over dollars.
Look, I think we get ripped off when it comes to military spending, but taking a hatchet to programs we need is way, way, way, down my list.
Ted Kennedy could have given the same presentation.
I erased his shows and never looked back.
Projecting a strong military is the only place I am tolerant of us going over budget on. He made me so mad I wanted to yell at the screen again.
Sink the islamofascists.
Good plan. Then again, Iran’s navy isn’t particularly impressive. Not much more than a few canoes from 1974, held together with duct tape and rubber bands.
Yield from a nuke the Iranians can conceivably produce would only (detonated on the surface) vaporize the people in the immediate area.
Yeah, you are right. There would be no concomitant ecological disaster.
It’s for reasons like this that I am glad I don’t have cable anymore.
Last I heard, the worthless commie fascist Nazi b*st*rd was complaining about having to golf in the heat today. Ain't got enough sense to golf a little farther north, I guess.
Anyway, world events are above his pay grade.
I’ve weighed it myself.
Things change so quickly these days, that if you’re out of the loop, you are really out of the loop.
I’m not certain you aren’t right though. Frankly, I think it’s time to give serious thought to places to hole up.
