Obama to Tea Partiers: See! The Gulf Disaster is What Smaller Government Will Get You
Michelle Malkin ^ | 12 June 2010 | Doug Powers

Posted on 06/12/2010 6:47:54 PM PDT by combat_boots

When you’re stuck in quicksand — or even a vat of thick oil for that matter — the first pointer in the survival manual is not to flail. President Obama hasn’t read that manual:

The president also implied that anti-big government types such as tea party activists were being hypocritical on the issue.

“Some of the same folks who have been hollering and saying ‘do something’ are the same folks who, just two or three months ago, were suggesting that government needs to stop doing so much,” Obama said. “Some of the same people who are saying the president needs to show leadership and solve this problem are some of the same folks who, just a few months ago, were saying this guy is trying to engineer a takeover of our society through the federal government that is going to restrict our freedoms.” Is the president saying that he didn’t react quickly because he was trying to placate Tea Party activists, thus blaming them for the slow response? Obama almost makes it sound like he let the Gulf die to make a point against those who are for smaller, more responsible government, doesn’t he?

No, it is what ignorance and ineptitude will bring. The TSA and the ATF are examples of bigger government.

NO, Obama, the "Gulf Disaster" is what presidential INaction with get the nation.
It's what the Libs get for electing a Community Organizer; sadly we ALL must suffer for their bad decision in 2008, attracted to you false promises of Hope and Change.

Clean Water Act - Section 311

(A) If a discharge, or a substantial threat of a discharge, of oil or a hazardous substance from a vessel, offshore facility, or onshore facility is of such a size or character as to be a substantial threat to the public health or welfare of the United States (including but not limited to fish, shellfish, wildlife, other natural resources, and the public and private beaches and shorelines of the United States), the President shall direct all Federal, State, and private actions to remove the discharge or to mitigate or prevent the threat of the discharge.

So Barry, BP may be responsible for the leak ...
but YOU Obama are responsible for scenes like THIS:

May you rot in hell for you indecisiveness.

Obama said. “Some of the same people who are saying the president needs to show leadership...”

Obama says "the president needs to show leadership". It sounds like he is talking about somebody else. He is speaking in the third person. Who does he think the president is. Doesn't he know he is president?

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”

Author unknown.

I thought a president had to be 35 years old but the little boy in the white house sounds more like a preteen every day.

IMO, what he’s saying is.....”.... I hold the purse strings and I give permission and because you conservatives haven’t let me do what I wanted, I am getting revenge.... especially on Jindal”.

Yes, very well stated.

A parallel problem exists in the workforce with inferior superiors.

If the smart people at the bottom were able to bitchslap the stupid people at the top we'd still have the Challenger, etc..

"Let's not launch her in the cold weather until we get better o-rings that don't shrink"

I'm there's the same story in the Gulf.

I don’t think he’s indecisive or dithering. He wants this destruction to further his goals. Yes, I agree may he rot in Hell.

Sadly, it looks like he does not. He is blameless (to himself) and therefore finds it oh so easy to blame others. If not in name, then straw people. What an A$$ Whole.

Deceit is far worse.

I suppose people were decieved, but more by themselves for wanting to see the Wizard. What he is was always in plain view - for those of us who wanted to see.

Smaller govt. would allow drilling in shallower waters instead of 1 mile deep, allowing for an easier solution.

What a Doofus.

The ocean areas off our coast belong to the Federal Government. The Federal Government is tasked with the control and stewardship of this area.

The fact that the Big Government Feds are sticking their noses into every crevice of our lives, property, business and health, they don't have time or focus to do their job. That's what the problem is. Tea Partiers call on the Federal Government to do their constitutional mandated jobs and leave everything else alone.

No hypocrisy among the Tea Party folks, just more cheap demagoguery from the Bambster.

What he doesn't seem to notice is this - we already have a honking big, overstuffed government that already has more than enough power, money, and authority to have cleaned the damned thing up lickety-split (or, what's more, to have prevented it in the first place) - and it didn't do us a damned bit of good, so clearly, big government is not the answer to anything, and thus smaller government at least would have provided us the virtue of letting us keep more of our own money and more of our own privacy, with exactly the same amount of oil spilt. Stupid effing liberal.

o.k....let me get this straight..when the government sticks it’s nose in things they have no right to...but have no ability to assist in the ways it IS empowered to, but is ineffective...this is somebody elses fault??

I’ll be back later, I have to go bang my head against the wall.

> I don’t think he’s indecisive or dithering.
He wants this destruction to further his goals.

At times, I just don't know about the WHY.

Yes, Obama wants to push his Green agenda, but he's catching a lot of hell from his Environmental supporters, hence his all-time low in the Gallup and Rasmussen Polls.

Everytime I think Obama is evil incarnate, he bumbles and fumbles to prove that he's also just an inexperienced Community Organizer who relies on his teleprompters more than he can his own hand-picked bungling White House advisers.
