Early in the 90s, we saw a militarization of this area...and an enormous jump in the number of Border Patrol agents and their various apparatuses, Velarde said. In the case of Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereka, he was killed point blank by a Border Patrol agent. Its a very ... violent space, as we see the mix of people and the state repression that exists there in all its forms.
Velarde compared the U.S.-Mexico border to occupied Palestine. He said:
The similarities are so obvious, especially to somebody who lives on the border. The fact that they can justify deadly force against somebody throwing a rock is absurd to me. Theres a great similarity with Palestine and Gaza. What really strikes me is that these egregious incidents are taken as normal or unproblematic in [the] larger public sentiment.
Nativo Lopez, President of the Mexican American Political Association, one of the oldest and most prestigious Mexican-American organizations in the country, agreed: The analogy to young Palestinian youth throwing pieces of Palestine at the colonizing army is appropriate. This can only escalate from here on in.
Lopez added that the escalation of violence by U.S. officials along the border adds up to nothing short of war.
Over the last 22 years
weve seen the escalated militarization of the border, Lopez said. It has exceeded 20,000 Border Patrol agents and National Guard on a line that 80 years ago was almost absent of such enforcement.
That constitutes an act of war, and the people of Mexico will not put up with it. >
War on the border alert.
We need to deport or imprison ALL illegal aliens, including their so-called anchor babies, seal/secure the border and SHOOT anyone who tries to re-enter illegally.
When is a rock not a weapon? Who is this Kum-by-ya reporter?
Bring it on, they have no right here. and a lot of people are upset about this rubbish.
Build the wall! Deport illegals!
“most prestigious Mexican-American organizations in the country,”
This is a Joke right??
You apparently didn't (read this): Obama Orders Dance Classes, Movie Nights, and Bingo for Illegal Detainees.
Cross the border and throw rocks at armed border patrol and you might (should) get shot (preferably dead).
What’s consortium news? Link?
Why aren’t the Mexican people upset about the 5,000 Mexican citizens killed in Northern Mexico just this last year? Further, does Mexico let anyone that wants to come across its southern border? Last, what do you think would happen to an American citizen who picked up a softball sized rock and threw it at a Mexican federal police officer or City of Tijuana police officer?
Got a link? Are there comments there?
So, protection of the state borders and state territory from a foreign invasion constitutes an act of war??
How about violation of the state territory and borders constituting it?
The costs of the political correctness just keep rising.
BTW, if violation of the state borders is a normality and violated state should just stand down, then, I suppose, a raid into Mexican territory must be OK.
Been waiting for this quote. So when Mexicans start lobbing missiles across the border....
Perchance do you have a link?
go here for two videos of the real situation

Bet that kid never threw rocks at the Mexican Army or cartel enforcers.
Let me get about 10 feet away from him and throw rocks at him and if he survives he can tell me they arent deadly..
A Mexican with a rock killed Montezuma around 1521.
Yeah FR can not link as part of the posting for some reason.
