Justice Dept. Drops Doolittle Charges After 6.5 Years of Limbo (what RINO's do to conservatives)
Sacramento BEE ^

A Justice Department corruption investigation that helped drive John Doolittle from office has now been closed without charges being filed, the former Sacramento, Calif.-area congressman said Friday.

"I'm thrilled," Doolittle said in an interview. "They've dragged this thing out for six and a half years."

Doolittle's relief, though, is tinged with bitterness at how he believes the Justice Department has mistreated him. He says he accumulated $600,000 in attorneys fees, some of which he was able to pay with campaign funds.

The lingering investigation hindered his ability to find work. In the beginning, he said, it proved "very devastating" to his high school-aged daughter.

Hillary Clinton said upon the massive sweep of congress in 1994 that she couldn't see how anything would ever get done in a Congress headed by two people named Doolittle and Delay!!!

Well Dubya din't clean house and the liberal crew in Justice knew exactly how to smear both good conservative men through the politics of personal destruction.

I don't think Dubya was all that disappointed to see both these guys ruined either. Especially when all he had to do was... nothing!!!

It's the Dem way.

Pretty scary, eh?

Eventually, the Dems will realize that THEY are at risk for the same treatment, from other Dems. (Think USSR, here.)

This is the stinkiest thing I've seen in the last 15 years of Repellican politics with Demonicrat complicity!!!

This was absolutely vicious and almost everybody just stands by a watches without saying a word to stop it while it's happening. They just click their tongues and wag their heads and feel nothing! Not ever shame!! Well I feel it's a damn shame!!!

John worked tirelessly for the Reagan Conservative Movement and really did as much as anybody to facilitate the 1994 landslide!!! He never worried about who got the credit...

The Bee should be made to make big screaming headlines “WE GOOFED” on the front page. Every day they had a story on Doolittle practically proclaiming his guilt.

Actually it’s the way of justice these days! It seems that the Constitution is being voided daily.

I and most here probably believe that the police, judges, and the justice system is still okay - well, it is not. Things have progressed to the point that justice depends upon the wealth and persona of the individual. Even the juries seem to blank out when a personality is being judged.

If things don’t change soon, it will be too late. Heck, justice is just a term that is bandied about by those in charge...

Believe me, it's what they live to do, and it's exactly how they do it.

They should be made to pay this and more, and prosecutors lose their jobs, at least, without having to sue them - it's the only way can get the "justice" back. The absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Using the legal system for political purposes is the worst form of abuse of power. These are not "victimless crimes" perpetrated in the name of "justice".

This was the original reason hundreds of years ago for the grand jury system - to keep the king’s prosecutor at bay. The abuse of prosecutorial power for political pusposes underpinned the entire concept.

We’re right back where we started.

Isn't this horrid? I couln't stand it when they did it to Delay and I totally hated it when it happened to Doolittle. I was in his district and had the honor of voting for him many times.

Gawd I hate the libs!

This goes to show us that we cannot be satisfied with merely winning back the congress and White House. We must root out democrat corruption from every aspect of our culture...the bureaucracies, legal system, unions, education, intelligence community, military, etc. They are out to destroy America and they use their positions to do just that.

It was the Justice Department under Bush that went after Curt Weldon and Ted Stevens too.

No charges ever filed against Weldon and Stevens has been exonerated.

Agreed. He was viciously attacked. The Dems thought they had a chance at his seat, and they nearly got it in the last election. McClintock squeaked out a victory, but the Dems and organized labor (same thing) poured tons of money into this district trying to elect a “conservative” Democrat puppet named Charlie Brown.
