More than two thousand people have been arrested on suspicion of their involvement with Mexican drug cartels. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has announced that 2,266 people have been arrested as part of a 22-month investigation targeting Mexican drug traffickers. Holder called it the extensive and successful law enforcement effort targeting the cartels.
LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Called Project Deliverance, Holder announced the success of the inter-agency cross-border investigation. Holder says the operation resulted in the seizure of more than $150 million in U.S. currency, and large amounts of drugs, 2.5 tons of cocaine, 69 tons of marijuana, and more than a ton of methamphetamine and heroin were seized. In addition to the arrests, hundreds of weapons and vehicles were also seized.
Holder said the operation will greatly limit the flow of drugs into the United States.
"This operation has struck a very significant blow against the cartels," Holder says. "But make no mistake; we know that as successful as this operation was, it was just one battle in what is an ongoing war."
The statements come in the wake of tougher immigration laws being enacted in Arizona. The laws were partly in response to drug-related violence trickling into the U.S due to the southern border the two nations share. In Mexico, thousands of people have been killed in recent years in drug-related violence.

Makes one wonder how the cartels will respond.
Will the book be thrown at them? Will being here illegally,many i wager,add to the time they get? Will Calderon scream we’re picking on his lovely people? Will the families of those here illegally be deported back to the hell hole they call a country?
Well, it certainly looks like racial profiling to me. There isn’t one white guy or black guy or Asian guy in that picture — did I leave anyone out? I don’t want to be thought of as insensitive as regards humanity. And another thing. How come there are no women represented? Unbelievable!
trouble is on the horizon, these cartels are serious and do not care.
But...but...but George Soros, Sting and Montell said that we’ve lost the war on drugs. Georgie wants drugs legalized so he can steal everyone’s money while they’re busy getting high.
Kinda like stirring up someone as bad as the Taliban. These guys have no moral restraint. Didn’t they just find a bunch of bodies in a mine somewhere down there? Yikes, I can see the border fence from my roof.
Turn them over to Peruvian interrogators and you’ll have thousands of confessions by Monday.
Yup. Clearly some racial profiling going on.
And they’ll be shipped off to one of ICE’s new country clubs for illegal aliens.

Notice that they’re all handcuffed in the front? Mexican cops aren’t very serious or it’s a staged photo op.
Could be they’re not captured criminals at all...
