I’ve never done it and wouldn’t do it. Hell, even the Walkill River near me swells into a lake, and it gets going with enough force to knock down trees. It was a factor in choosing my home as well. I’m at the top of a hill, in the highest elevation area in the state lol. People who live in flood zones and camp in floodzones are asking for trouble, especially with big storms upstream. I guess they learned their lesson now. Some of em paid with their lives. It’s a wicked, nasty world. Gotta look out.

I've seen a flash flood swamp a high rise dorm located on a hill far from any significant body of water. Like I said, flash flooding can happen in the most surprising places, and take the most prepared of us by surprise. I pray it never happens to you.
