Saint Sarah [Newsweek's Full Bore Palin Attack]
Newsweek ^ | June 11, 2010 | Lisa Miller

Saint Sarah To white evangelical women, Sarah Palin is a modern-day prophet, preaching God, flag, and family—while remaking the religious right in her own image.

Another memoirist might prefer to keep such matters private, but Sarah Palin is not another memoirist. In Going Rogue: An American Life, Palin describes, perhaps for the first time in the history of political autobiography, a furtive trip to an out-of-state drugstore to obtain a do-it-yourself pregnancy test. This was in the fall of 2007, when the 43-year-old mother of four was governor of Alaska and began to notice “some peculiar yet familiar physical symptoms, like the smell of cigarettes making me feel more nauseated than usual.” So, while on business in New Orleans—at a time and in a place where her anonymity was still possible—Palin procured the kit. In the privacy of her hotel room, she “followed the instructions on the...box. Slowly a pink image materialized on the stick.

You just claimed I wished a coronary on messup, do you think I should still believe you when you make such implications?

How is your nose??

Probably brown from being up McCain's arse all the time.

But hey, what can you expect from someone who defended the Bush-McCain amnesty way back in 2006?

#1: The border issue is a small, small percentage IMHO, and vastly overrated by the anti-illegal immi crowd.

#2: Full amnesty is cititzenship. This is not citizenship. They will have to be signed up, or be deported. We will know who they are. They will have to go home at the end of their license. Seems like a great idea, cheap, and effective. Honestly, there is no other idea that is this good, I have never seen one given by an anti-immi this good....actually I have never seen one by them at all that had a snowball's chance in Hell of working.

#3: His main point, I think, is that the border-bots are dividing us unneccesarily, being helped by Kos kiddies and Duers who want us divided, and if successful will rule us in ways you will absolutely hate.

This when the President actually proposed half of what you want, which is border security? You only answer by saying Bush must be lying or be insincer......I want that security as much as you, but the border bots seem to want to just rant now. Wait until the Dems are in and they have their way. Votes for all illegals, every single position you hold dear even in the anti-immi debate will be gone forever.

Three strikes and you're out, Shark!

No. Palin is not perfect. But she inspires regular people to get involved. She would get them to the voting booth too. But I would be carefull if I were you. We need more people that are passionate. We need more people that are willing to be involved. I don’t think trying to squash enthusiasim and excitment is a really good way to go about things. What you say is demoralizing. I am not going to throw in the towel. I strongly believe that where there is passion, momentum and the American spirit shines, independents will follow.

It's early for me to decide who I would support in the primaries, espeially since nobody has announced yet. That said, I like your passion, enthusiasm and excitement for Palin, I think it's a good thing and I hope she does run.

mistakes

But you still like Sarah Palin, right ?

I can tell you, from my generations’ perspective. She is an inspiration.

Nobody takes on Obama likes she does.

Good. That is exactly how I feel.

I think her biggest mistake would be trying to change herself to be more appealing to moderates based on the advice from some educated morons in the party. John McCain probably is one of them.

But as I said earlier in this thread. Where there is passion, where there is the American spirit, I believe independent voters will follow. Like 1980. Now that was a flash flood. lol

"Yeah, like you and the banker and messup claimed I wished messup would die of a coronary?"
Nuh no Snark. You JOKED about a coronary, you didn’t WISH it.

Lakesnark is only half clever. He's engaging in nothing more than a Clintonesque parsing of words, i.e., "oh no, he didn't WISH a coronary on me, that would be cruel" but he thought the prospect of it funny enough to joke about.

That was sufficient to show what resides within the soul.

that's stretching it to call that a threat.
There is absolutely ZERO reason to publicly post "I know his real name and where he works" about an opponent in the middle of an Internet discussion unless one's intent is to make an implied offline threat in order to intimidate the opponent into shutting up or conceding.

IMHO, ANY poster who makes such an implied threat as you have described above, should be immediately banned from FR. To suddenly raise the subject of "who" a FReeper is (real name) and "where" they work (place of employment) serves no purpose except to threaten and intimidate, and has no place in any civil discussion.

Now that’s going a little too far. McCain may be less than ideal as a conservative, but he is not a traitor. Let’s not forget that he is the man we all voted for less than two years ago. Conservatives would never vote for a traitor.

He’s a traitor. McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman, TARP, etc. All direct assaults on our constitution and our Liberty. By the way, the only reason I voted the Republican ticket for the presidency was Sarah Palin. I would not have voted McCain otherwise.

Most of your posting history involves shilling for McCain, denigrating J.D. Hayworth, and pushing RINOs.

Get lost, troll.

Or perhaps a conservative cannot win in certain districts so we have to settle for a moderate.

...it may be Hayworth who is the real problem...

And McCain is a lot more conservative than you folks are admitting.

McCain is simply the better candidate.

You can try to twist it all you want, but the fact is most Republicans support McCain.

So what if I support McCain.

Even in Arizona, John McCain still has a solid lead over Hayworth. Immigration is just not that important to most Americans.

We are witnessing the rebirth of the GOP and Sarah and John McCain are leading the way.

If McCain represents the rebirth of the GOP, the GOP is toast! McCain, the guy who rushed back to DC to push for the bailouts (which led directly to the election of Obama), is what the Tea Party rebellion is all about. You might say that McCaine’s Mutiny caused the birth of the Tea Party.

Rebellion is brewing!!

Absolutely correct. And let's not forget how McCain betrayed POW-MIAs side-by-side with John F'in Kerry by shutting down inquiries and investigations into the fate of unaccounted for U.S. armed forces in Vietnam. McCain has worked tirelessly for the benefit of the regime in Hanoi, from the muzzling of information regarding POWs, to pushing millions in foreign aid and more favorable trading status.

John McCain may not be a traitor on the scale of a John Walker (convicted of spying for the Soviets), but McCain has had nothing but good things to say and do regarding his former captors. By his own admission, he was "broken" by torture, and for that reason alone, his psychological fitness to serve in ANY elective office should have been in question from the very beginning. His actions have proven that he is unfit. His conduct regarding our Constitution and Liberties is absolutely treasonous.

Regarding Sarah Palin and McCain: I reiterate that when Sarah Palin is on the record as saying that she "shares John McCain's vision for America", we can all be assured that such a "vision" is NOT a conservative vision, which in my mind makes Sarah an inconsistent conservative, and her support for Carly Fiorina (another McCain crony) only reinforces that inconsistency.

Just sayin'
