LONDON Spewing oil and alienating Americans with its chief executives impolitic remarks, BP may be Public Enemy No. 1 in the United States. But in Britain, where the company is a mainstay of the stock market and a favorite of pension funds, investors and politicians are becoming increasingly angry at the blistering attacks from across the Atlantic.
BPs share price, even after recovering some ground in New York trading on Thursday, has fallen more than 40 percent since the environmental catastrophe in April, and some analysts say the crisis could lead to the takeover or even the bankruptcy of one of Britains most valuable and iconic companies.
In that atmosphere, the stream of condemnations from Washington has stirred a protective backlash, even in this closest of American allies. Boris Johnson, the Conservative mayor of London, said Thursday that he was worried about anti-British rhetoric and name calling from American politicians.
When you consider the huge exposure of British pension funds to BP, it starts to become a matter of national concern if a great British company is being continually beaten up on the airwaves, Mr. Johnson told BBC radios Today program.

is it just me or has this admin broken every relationship we had with our real allies and courted every adversarial one? When has that ever happened in U.S. history?

BP expected to become involved in the American political process when they forked over tens of thousands of dollars to the Obama campaign.
As they say, you gotta watch out what you wish for...

It never has, and anyone who is stupid enough to believe that it’s all an accident is to dumb to exist. This is seriously dangerous.

Dosn’t matter who is speaking, it matters who has the power and is using it to destroy the US/UK relationship.

Actually, Glen Beck had a great show on the tv side of his broadcasting, concerning the "Black Flag - Tear it all down" side of the Democrat Party vs. the Nice Little power hungry-personally greedy side of Demo's.
(Obama vs. the Arkansas Grifters)
I actually watched the whole program, because he spoke out on something I've known ... for years.
And why I couldn't bring myself to vote for McCain.

Obama made a point the first few days in office to alienate the Brits by returning a bust of Churchill. That was followed not long after by giving the Queen a tacky gift at their first meeting. After that he gave short shrift to Prime Minister Gordon Brown in Washington and called him while he was still in transit back to Britain to apologize.
Me thinks the Brits, who hated Bush and, at least initially adored the ‘anointed one’ are having serious second thoughts.

And that is why I can be angry at BP for screwing up but not be screaming for their destruction like an SEIUtard. Those screaming for the destruction of BP are selling their soul to the marxist radicals.

I can see their point but I’d also like to see how they’d react if an American run rig off the coast of Scotland had the same size spill for this long.

The Brits have an absolute right to be angry with this. The Democrats are always looking for an angle to whip up their base and their attacks on BP have gone far beyond what is required to hold them responsible. The Democrat National Socialists propaganda machine has kicked into high gear for the SOLE purpose of getting more National Socialists reelected in November.
