As cash runs low in government coffers around the country, politicians are ratcheting up the intensity of their search for revenue and new areas to regulate. Small businesses are in their cross-hairs in a mammoth, nationwide shakedown. They are the nation's critical engine for growth, innovation and job creation, yet they are being starved for credit and slammed with more taxes, government directives and litigation exposure.

Atlas’ shoulders are going more and more into the “shrug” position...Congress, YOU CAN’T PUSH A ROPE.
Gonna be a lot of Galt’s.
He is out to totally destroy this country.
No. But they can sure as hell order you to.
Two of these people are blindly and rabidly Liberal.
The other one is an very disgusted Conservative.
Soon, the two Liberals will join the club. I am watching and waiting.
It is just so frustrating. They are so addicted to power and spending that they can't stand even the prospect of losing either.
I was at HS graduation yesterday. It's a predominantly non-white school. I would guess less than five percent of the students are Caucasian. It's probably 60-40 Black/Hispanic. There were about 5,000 or so in the audience. Three speakers mentioned Obama by name, one of them pointed out that America had elected its first Black president. I was expecting the crowd to give it up at the mention of Obama, but it was absolutely quiet. I mean not a whisper of applause or cheering! I was stunned. Three times he was mentioned and he didn't get a single bit of applause. The mention of Michael Jackson brought a huge response. Gee, Mr. President, how does it feel to be regarded less fondly than a deceased child molester?
I don't know that to make of the crowd's lack of response to Obama being mentioned. I would have expected at least a ripple of applause, but nothing. Coulda heard a pin drop!
Maybe he's wearing out his welcome?
Folks had better watch their 401K’s, too. The gubmint is likely coming after those as well......
Maybe there's hope after all?
We wish! Not the little guys because business is life and death to them - John Galt has come from the Captains of Industry who can withstand considerable personal sacrifice.
Sunset on the Bush tax-cuts will push unemployment to 25% and depress the stock market DOW to 5000 or less—all according to the kenyan marxist’s plan to destroy US wealth and power.
Democrats are a virus. They feed off of the host until they kill it.
As the currency collapses due to the completely out of control debt,
they will be floundering around, thrashing about, grabbing up every bit of wealth they can “legitimately” (meaning what we’ll let them get away with) to prop up the failing currency for as much time as possible.
Look for it, prepare for it, protect your wealth and prepare for a time when a $100 bill will be worth more as toilet paper and toilet paper will be worth more than a $100 bill.
“Maybe he’s wearing out his welcome?”
I heard you on the radio this morning. :)
What if he truly is the enemy in power? Think about it.
Not that I doubted he was the enemy before he was elected. Any one who refuses and protests the American flag during wartime, is an enemy.
They'll take away the mortgage deduction first. And small companies? Too much trouble.. dems will go for natural resource producers - lots of money and easy to catch cheating. Of course, it'll have the same devastating effect on the economy. But easier in the short run.
or as one analyst in Europe put it, as soon as we get thru the current wave of Western election cycles, “governments are going to tax everything that moves” beginning next year.
We're screwed. If it's intentional or not... doesn't matter to the outcome if it's incompetence or design. Think about that...
Yep. I've been slowly divesting out of the market on the highs. Just about out now. The "Bank of Mason" is becoming more and more appealing with every passing day.
My wife's cousin works for Blackwater. He spent several years in the war zone in Kosovo. He told me once that when the currency collapsed toilet paper, bullets and reading material became the new currency. I expect a barter network to grow here. In fact, it's already happening....
