How Limbaugh and Sir Elton John became Buds

Rush Limbaugh and Sir Elton John's relationship started with problems. Heart problems, that is.

According to conservative talk radio host Mark Levin, a guest at Limbaugh's wedding last weekend, Limbaugh and John were staying at the same hotel in Hawaii when Limbaugh had his heart attack scare earlier this year. John checked up on Limbaugh to see how he was doing, and from there, a friendship formed.

"As Elton John explained it to the 400 or so people there, he and Rush have kept up a fairly regular e-mail exchange," Levin said on his show Tuesday.

He called John "gracious and superb," and mentioned the heat John is receiving from the Left for his relationship with Limbaugh.

I’m sure Elton sees it as a case of “hate the conservatism, love the conservative”.

“The roses in the window box are tilted to one side...”

I’m pleased about this story. Especially in light of Mccartney’s faux pas..

It speaks well for Elton, that he’s not bound by the lockstep ideology of most in his community.

Hmmm, perhaps the “flaming tiny dancer” is hitting on Rush?

If this doesn’t show that two political polar opposites can can get along, I don’t know what would. We have the king of right wing talk radio as a buddy of one of the most famous left wing, flamboyantly gay performers in history. If these two can get along, surely each of us can have productive relationships with liberal friends and family members.

No, I recall her saying that, and it’s harder to believe that Elton and Rush. At least Elton can sing.

I know a number of people I disagree with on issues. We keep away from those or else I smile, nod, and make sure I have ear plugs handy. If you only have friends who see the world exactly as you do, it becomes a boring place. Best wishes to Rush!

Elton John’s intolerance of Christianity

“On November 12, Elton John said that he wants to see an organized effort to suppress institutionalized faith. “From my point of view, I would ban religion completely,” he said. The superstar said that even though there are some wonderful things about it...the reality is that organized religion doesn’t seem to work. “It turns people into hateful lemmings and it’s not really compassionate,” he said. “I think religion has always tried to turn hatred toward gay people. Religion promotes the hatred and spite against gays.”
