Filmmaker James Cameron garnered some headlines recently when he called BP "morons" for their handling of the Gulf oil spill (Cameron was asked to offer advice on how to fix the problem).
"Over the last few weeks I've watched as we all have with growing sort of horror and heartache watching what's happening in the Gulf and thinking, those morons don't know what they're doing," Cameron said last week.
Now, Cameron is clarifying his remarks, telling CNN's Larry King that his words were "taken out of context."

Mr. Cameron is a moron.
Oops.
My remarks were taken out of context.
I see all the climate change nutjobs are getting their ducks in a row.
What a ridiculous puppet show.
Morons keep using that phrase.
I do not think morons know what that phrase means...
"They're M O R O N S !
I took cool pictures of the Titanic underwater... I know what I’m talking about.
What an idiot.
Actually, and I am not trying to be difficult here, he DOES know what he is doing with deep water submersibles. As an engineer, he has pretty decent experience with this stuff.
That said, he also admitted that the robotics he’s worked with are different than the ones being used in the gulf—so mixing them would be a clash of robotic operations.
I thought talking to him was stupid at first. After doing some research, I found out that he really does know what he’s doing.
“Taken out of context” - translation - You quoted me accurately, but I don’t want to be held to what I said.
BUMP!
“Taken out of context” is his way of saying “I am tired of getting laughed at for making such an arrogant and idiotic statement.”.
I took the news as when a press agent announces that “they” are making a remake of a movie like Russ Meyer’s Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!” and getting Tarentino to direct and Britney Spears to star. It’s just to get some celebs name in print until their next gig.
Without further information, and if you stayed within the context of how that phrase is currently used, you would have to conclude that it means that "I was caught saying what I really mean".
The Oceaneering guys run CIRCLES around him. Period.
He should STFU.
You know more than I. Personally, I don’t care.
I think there are plenty of chefs stirring this pot. I wouldn’t know a good resolution if it bit me in the arse.
Has a liberal ever NOT been “taken out of context??”
What will the name of his movie be? Obama’s excellent clean up?
