First of all the attacks he cites such as Pearl Harbor,
9-11 etc. are all attacks against our government. What I’m concerned about is an attack against the people BY the government.

Second, since when did these communists start paying attention to the constitution. Right AFTER obamacare was passed?

Third, I always think of a “coup” as being AGAINST the sitting government.

Your point is right on. Not “stop” the elections...more of a “cancellation” of the results of the elections.

I’ve said that if every Pakistani who owns a convenience store stopped selling gas for one day this country would be on it’s knees.

Lincoln didn’t call off elections during the Civil War. Well, maybe that’s ‘cause he didn’t have to worry about those “against” votes in the south.

“I believe we’re already in the midst of a coup, and that it has definitely been executed in our face.”

In a political sense of the word, yes.

“What happens if the military is all either stationed overseas or taken out in the crisis?”

FRiend, that’s thinking deep and well worth pondering.

I think if Obama tried some kind of mischief like that, it would cause surviving forces to turn against him that much more quickly. It would become a civil war, a rift inside the military, and the will to fight by Obama loyalists would erode exponentially. Where military is stationed would be irrelevant in the long run if they think of him as a genuine tyrant in every sense of the word. They would ultimately re-station themselves as needed. They would commandeer what supplies they need too.

However, he would find foreign allies who offer military support. Then it gets more complicated. But the more foreign assistance he accepts, the more quickly the US military would see him for what he would be. I don’t think he would win even then.

My greater concern is if the military looks as the voter as a perpetual problem. If their respect for the voting majority continues to be undermined, then it would ultimately reach the breaking point, and they would consider the system broken. That is the greatest danger we face. We must restore the military’s respect for the voter.

Are you kidding?

The universal franchise is the problem. The military is one of the possible solutions (though quite an unlikely one, IMO).

Nobody who understands jacksh*t respects the voter - and they are perfectly right.

At least the military is hopeful that the voter will wake up. Otherwise, they willl succumb to Sulla, Caesar, Augustus, and ultimately Nero.
