Sen. John McCain will debate GOP rival J.D. Hayworth this summer, his campaign spokesman said Wednesday.
Brian Rogers, McCains campaign communications director, said a newspaper report indicating McCain was busy with his job as a senator and would not debate Hayworth was not accurate.
What we said all along is that Sen. McCain will obviously debate hes always debated, Rogers said, adding, but he has a day job. Folks want him doing his job during the week, so he doesnt have, unlike Congressman Hayworth, unlimited time on his hands.
Hayworth, who served 12 years in the House before he was defeated in 2006, and Jim Deakin are the GOP challengers in the race. Rogers said the McCain campaign wants Deakin included in any debate.
Well be taking a look at the schedule and look forward to debating, he said.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
that will be an interesting debate...
Say good night, McQueeg!
I’m with you. If he debates he’s gone; His record is lethal, and J.D. has it memorized by now.
McCain is disgusting.
” Rogers said the McCain campaign wants Deakin included in any debate. “
No! Deakin is owned by McCain.
...wonder if he'll go into his preadolescence comedy routine?
Is Deakin one of McCain’s attack dogs?
Maybe McStain can ge his #1 supprter Sarah Palin to assist him.
I'm toast.
Good night."
Let’s hope Hayworth debates him on McCain’s attempt to introduce legislation to treat vitamins and supplements as “drugs” (Codex Alementarius-sp?)
THAT certainly got a lot of depends in a wad!! As well it SHOULD have!
Don’t let ‘em forget, J.D.!!!!
No, just a bought & paid for loser.
McCain wants to “water down” the time with him.
Nice of him to continue to lie about his stances...
Of course, he will probably convince half of the idiot electorate that he is really against illegal immigration...heh. Seems to be just how much money is spent to change opinions, politics is just way too corrupt!
There is no way this miserable, phony little POS will DARE to debate JD. If he does, it’ll be a day before the election AFTER the majority of voters have already sent in their “early” ballots.
This is an admission of weakness on McCain’s part.
Probably true... Even if he debates, his dishonesty will show through. He has little chance of changing the minds of voters, but he is trying and that is disturbing...
His record speaks for itself! Geez, what more do voters want?
Your day job is kinda why JD wants to debate in the first place, Senator.
I’m so there! This will be pure entertainment! Can’t wait to watch and listen to JD spill out McCain’s voting record!
biggest mistake of his career, even I could beat McCain in a debate.
a repeat of the presidential debates....yikes. it will lose the election for him....good if he goes for it.
