Israel must send Turkey a clear message that if Turkish warships are sent to accompany the next flotilla trying to break the embargo on Gaza, these will be considered acts of war by Israel , Uzi Dayan, former deputy Chief of General Staff, told Army Radio Monday morning.
"If the Turkish prime minister joins such a flotilla, Dayan said, we should make clear beforehand this would be an act of war, and we would not try to take over the ship he was on, but would sink it.
If Israel doesn't make this clear beforehand, the Turks will grow increasingly self-assured, and we may indeed find ourselves facing such a scenario, which could have been averted.
Uzi Dayan attacked a letter sent by Navy veterans calling for a commission of inquiry as confused and irresponsible.
I doubt Israel will get any help this time,,,
While Iran is out of range Turkey,Lebanon and Syria are not.
Whether the Obamanation would join in anyway is anybody’s guess.
A classic Turkey shoot!
The Turkish military is designated as the protectors of the Constitution and have a duty to remove an unconstitutional government.
They have done it before and then returned to their barracks.

Debka file has been talking about this for some weeks now and the situation is even uglier than this post lets on. Hint: Iran is getting into the game too.
Didn’t the Turkish government arrest some officers a few months back?
Big article the other day on how the Young Turks of the Moslem movement/government have been clamping down on the Old Turks of the military, thus gutting it of leaders who could oppose an Islamic dictatorship.
The author was of the opinion that it is too late now for the military to stage a coup.
Forgot who wrote the article but it may have been from the British press.
And most of their strike F-4s are F-4 2000’s purchased from Israel. I wouldn’t put it past the Israelis to put in an “auto-eject” button.
Iran will start the shooting with the Turks there. Once they get get it started the Turks will surely jump in.
We on the other hand,led by Jimmy Carters heir apparent won’t help our long time ally. Watch the markets then. As if there wasn’t enough bad news.
Israel upgraided the F-15s. Also half of the total F-15 kills were made by Israeli pilots, the first using the m-61 20mm cannon. Lebanon is littered with Syrian fighters.
I think it would depend on how serious the troops were willing to get.
You may be right about the US not helping Israel, but that is what allies are supposed to do, especially it comes to the US and Israel.
Here’s a better question....
if 0bamao responded affirmatively to a Turkey request that the NTO treaty be invoked, would our military take arms against Israel?
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Makes sense, it is an act of war.
For those raising the NATO issue, NATO is a defensive pact, which in my view is no longer relevant. NATO members are in no way obligated to join Turkey in an attack on another nation, Israel. NATO supported the USA in Afghanistan, it was the nominal source of the 9/11 attack. NATO didn't participate in the Iraq war, despite UN approval, since it wasn't a defensive action. It's a non issue. If Turkey pushes this, it's because they want to give Hizbollah reason to launch an attack in north. A pretty good distraction as Iran completes their first bombs. One which could easily backfire as Israel might not be distracted from the Iranian threat.
Cool! Thanks for the info!...
And exactly what have they done in the past ten or twenty years to behave like one?
I’m not sure if you guys know this but if you are on twitter you can follow official announcements from the IDF. They’ve been very active with tweets about how much aid Israel is sending into Gaza, etc. The account is @idfspokesperson. It’s been very enlightening.
Psalm 83
1Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
6The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
9Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
11Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
17Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
