I agree... he is a saint.
Did anyone read her actual comments? She is opposed to the bailouts of big companies that we all have complained about for the past year, and she is voicing her displeasure at a pitiful cap on damages that is in place. I understand the reason for the cap, but $75M is pitifully low. These people are going to lose their boats and their livlihoods, and BP is going to lose a few bucks a share.
Per Cameo, the flash point for Petroleum Lubricating Oil is 300 degrees F
Thank you, this should be widely disseminated so people will know and understand how essential oil is to our lives. It’s not just gasoline folks.
You can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. Life is a messy business. Nobody wants to know where the sewage goes, who butchers the animals for our food and keeps the lights and phones on 24/7/365.
Lots of people don’t even realize where food comes from. They don’t realize that someone has to plow, plant, grow, water, harvest, transport, etc.
You beat me to it! I thought light a match!
You are right! Life is hard, then we die. I told my kids that every time they were whiny and begging for whatever. Life on earth was never meant to be EASY! My mom even taught me that! Life isn’t a bed of roses.
That reminds me. I was talking about guns and hunting and a friend from Holland who is so anti-gun was making faces. She just hates guns, we collect guns. We go to the firing range to practice. I told her my daughter’s finace goes hunting and they rarely have to buy meat. Anita said “they should get their meat at a grocery store, so no animals have to DIE” where do they think meat comes from???????????????
I was going to volunteer to clean her with soap until I saw the picture.
It looks to me like it is unused motor oil. Too bad anyone cared enough to take a photo.
Here, here! A hearty second on your comments.
1. She's a constituent.
2. She's a shrimper.
3. SHE HAS A VALID POINT! Namely that the $75 million (private) tort law liability limit is insufficient to compensate Gulf Coast commercial fishermen for lost livelihoods. Yet the Fed. still gets its millions in revenue from the oil. It's a case of "Compensation for Me but not for Thee".
Exactly. I was in Panama City Beach the week after the spill. I had gone to the marina to see about going fishing and ended up talking to a group of charter captains. They said it would be just a matter of time before the banks took their boats away since the charter business had already died. It was a sad conversation with a good group of men.
So you are saying that, say, in conducting my business, I unintentionally destroy yours, thats all well and good? Interesting view.
Don’t be a Red dupe, Freepers. Diane Wilson is a co-founder and current member of the communist, terrorist supporting group Code Pink.
I knew nothing of her other activities, which i certainly do not support. i don’t support her actions here, really. But I am sympathetic to the loss that so many are suffering of their livlihoods. My comments were in response to the attitude that those shrimpers and others should just shut up and take it.
That’ll show ‘em. /s
I plead the Broken Clock defense then. Regardless of whom she is the tort cap is too low to compensate the commercial fishing industry from the damage caused by BP’s gross negligence in overriding the rig operator’s guidance just prior to the blowout.
Maybe your friend from Holland has forgotten that her country was liberated from the Germans by men with guns.
