Former Hewlett-Packard Chief Executive Carly Fiorina will be the Republican Party nominee in the November race against Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer.

Fiorina was the top vote-getter in Tuesday's primary election in a Republican field that included former Rep. Tom Campbell and conservative Assemblyman Chuck DeVore (R-Irvine). ..............."

Yeah man, you’re absolutly right on point, but the all or nothing “purists” will want to take their ball and go home to pout.

While they always hold Reagan as their standard. They forget that his axiom was always to get as much as you could reasonably get and go back later for more.....they forget that his campaign tactic was to secure the base and then run to the middle...... In these days Reagan would be labled a “RINO.” These same purists would be saying “Reagan? I’m sitting this one out till a real Conservative runs!”

No matter how they view Carly, her sitting in Ca’s Senatorial seat will be 1000 times better than Boxer.....and no amount of phony holier than thou posturing will change that simple fact.

Whereas I have no influence what-so-ever with Boxer, I’ll at least feel I have an ear with Carly, and hopefully can influence or re-inforce her positions through my input.......

Get a grip folks. Boxer is as dumb as a box a rocks, but she is an experienced campaigner, fights dirty, and has beaten both rocked ribbed conservatives and moderates easily is past elections. She has never faced another woman, especially one like Carly that has been in the trenches before......

In the 18 years we have had Boxer as a Senator, this is the first time that I think her re-election efforts will fail .......I expect that Carly will be trading blow by blow punches with Boxer during the run up to the general, and be giving a lot more than she receives....

That is an important point here in kalifornicate. Boxer is so far to the left, she makes 0bama look conservative. The primaries are over, lets wake up and get Carly elected and put Boxer in the unemployment line.

There is no question to me that Palin’s endorsement did this.

“fiorina may have a chance because her name sounds sort of hispanic”

As another Italian I take exception to your comment! LOLOLOLOL

No hispanic would mistake “Fiorina” for a fellow hispanic...

“I pragmatically understand the vital importance of getting rid of Boxer. You do not.”

What have I ever written that makes you say that?

If we can delay it for a couple of centuries, I will be well pleased.

If we can delay it for a couple of centuriesfew decades, I will be well pleased.

Good, well thought-out post, although if socialism were to be delayed a couple of centuries (it's already here in many respects), I think it would probably have to be defeated at the present time. I see only two ways for that to happen, both coming from God's hand (the underlying problem in our country is spiritual.)

1 - A miraculous Third Great Awakening which could result defeating socialism for the time being.
2 - God simply extends His mercy for a few more decades, the way He did in Israel of old, before allowing its overthrow.

When America goes, the world will go quickly and nothing will prevent WWIII (very possibly centered on Israel and Biblically predicted) which will be the beginning of the Great Tribulation. This second scenario would be God allowing a few more decades to bring more into His Kingdom before He returns to take us with Him and all hell breaks loose on earth.

I wrote decades very much tongue in cheek. The average Democracy - a rare state in politics - lasts about 200 years.

If we could put off socialism 30 to 40 years, I would call that a miracle. I think the USA will have hard Soviet style communism in 100 years.

“What many here don’t seem to grasp is Fiorina is a deeply flawed candidate - she is custom ordered for Boxer’s style of campainging.”

Boxer’s style of campaigning is to get out early and define herself as being at the center of the political middle, and to define her opponet as an right wing extremist. It has worked well against both the Moderate and Conservative white male Republicans she has faced in the past.

While you may view Fiorina as a flawed Candidate (Seriously, is there any other kind?) her primary election ads focused on Boxer in a way that sets the table for countering Boxer’s hitherto winning campaign tactic..... Fiorina’s been in the big leagues before, facing a lot smarter and more ruthless people than Boxer.......I’m sure she has both learned and taught her lessons well.....I expect to see Fiorina run a strong and nearly flawless campaign against Boxer......I pray she will be successful......

Remember the foremost object of this years November election is to give Boxer a pink slip..... Nothing more.....nothng less...

The point is that Arnie was elected to do just that - defeat the liberal agenda and turn the ship of state around and back on solid economic ground. He campaigned to do that very thing: "blow up the boxes" was the term he used often to what he was going to do to the "economic girly men." But when push came to shove, he backed down and did not use his bully pulpit and political clout to win his propositions which he only tepidly supported when met with hard union resistance. Instead, he completely abandoned his conservative agenda and made friends with the libs.

Another thing. Arnie campaigned as a conservative and he won! In 2003! This talk about not being able to elect a conservative in CA is B.S. What’s needed is a non-RINO, TRUE conservative who can connect with the people the way Arnie and Reagan did. Admittedly it’s harder to do, but is demonstratedly doable. Hard to find those kind of people. Much easier to find socialists of the RINO ilk or hard-core DumbocRAT ilk.

So at most Arnie and the RINO’s succeed in delaying the inevitable for a few years. The difference is the gallows wait a little longer with the RINO’s. Do we arm now or later?

Won't last too long because the world will try to blow itself up. The Lord's return will save the world from itself.

Because she is so unlikable, Boxer's style is to make the campaign about the other guy - and she is VERY negative.

For example, in 92 Herschenson ALMOST beat her (and he's pretty conservative/libertarian) until she whipped up the female vote with her strip club allegations & beat him by 4 pts.

She's a dirty fighter. IMO Devore was squeaky clean and offered a real alternative on the issues.

The only thing that will win this election for Fiorina is Fiorina willing to go dirtier than Boxer.

Its amusing, in an infuriating sort of way, to see the easily appeased among us wringing their hands whining that conservatives, on a conservative website, are ruining their party.

Allot of people complained about how weak Chris Christie was until he got into action. Now hes a hero. If she is rotten she can be kicked out.

Yes Christie was considered the “RINO” when he ran against the conservative Steve Lonegan, who like DeVore could never get enough support to beat Corzine. Palin was smart enough to realize what the goal was, getting rid of Boxer, and used the best means to get there by following the same playbook. Christie is working out fine, for a RINO. Fiorina might too. Regardless, she is better than Boxer.

Yep!

“She’s a dirty fighter. IMO Devore was squeaky clean and offered a real alternative on the issues.”

Devore, with 18% of the primary vote among Republicans, is a pipe dream, and was never electable, nor did he even delude himself to think he was. He campaign showed that lack of confidence in himself.

“The only thing that will win this election for Fiorina is Fiorina willing to go dirtier than Boxer.”

You’re are right! It will be a nasty fight. I can only add that Fiorina can get down and dirty in the trenches in a way that a white male Republican, whether he is a Moderate or a Conservative, cannot. Fiorina is a good counter to Boxer’s dirty campaign style.....I hope that people are as sick of our incompetent/ignorant/arrogant Senator as I am!
