You're probably right but I think it delays not defeats the socialist agenda. It may overturn Obamacare for now, but it probably allows some not-as-awful hybrid in its place.
America's on life supports and probably too unstable for surgery right now. But at some point soon, the major surgery America needs will need to happen or the patient will die.
Amputation is a long-shot alternative which could also kill the patient (major succession of conservative Constitution-&-America-loving states.)

Her positions seem so lightly rooted that one might wonder, if similar tests or circumstances were to occur, what would keep her from turning into another Arianna Huffington?
Well she is the candidate now and no matter what everyone thinks about Carly or her supporters/detractors, as an ex-Californian I think if Carly can knock Boxer out of her seat then I am all for it.
The joke and implication was that Barbara Boxer is such a bad Senator that no Republican in their right mind should consider reelecting her. I’m surprised I’d have to explain it.

I'll wade into this since no one else seems to be answering a fair question and I've lived in CA all my life.
1. First of all the issue isn’t that Arnie caused the fiscal problems in CA. The DumbocRATs had already successfully implemented fiscal disaster in CA which is the reason Grey Davis was recalled and the "Governator" was elected in the first place.
2. Arnie started on the right track and in Novemeber 2005 held a special referendum election for the purpose of clearing the way for correction of the problems he was elected to solve. The propositions were:
a. limit state spending
b. strip lawmakers of the ability to draw political voting districts
c. lengthen the time it takes for public school teachers to get tenure
d. curbing the use of union dues for political campaign contributions
The proposals were spot on to begin fiscal reform and had the whole-hearted support of true fiscal conservatives like Tom McClintock. The "Governator" had political clout. But his campaign for these proposals was half hearted. His heart was not in the passage of these proposals because he was afraid of alienating his liberal friends including Maria Shriver, his wife. This is where many first saw the liberalism in this man.
He became the political girly man, backing down from going toe to toe in debating the state teachers union probably the most powerful liberal political force in CA. This was the moment to turn the tide in CA and Anrie was basically a turncoat. He never took any comprehensive action against the libs and the root of CA’s fiscal problems again. (His fiscal conservatism has of late, to his credit, been seen in his refusal to rubber stamp budgets that would hasten CA’s seemingly inevitable demise.)
I was for DeVore. U can bet I’ll vote for Carly. I hate Boxer.

Boxer is a ham sandwitch, but Fiorina is a train wreck waiting to happen. I feel sorry for the 6th.

This is a great point. I'm a New Jersey resident who didn't really support Christie at all. Didn't vote for him in the primary, didn't really want him as governor. I was wrong. Way wrong. People can turn out better or worse than you think at first.
My unasked-for advice to CA conservatives? Get rid of Boxer and then stay on Fiorina like white on rice. If she turns out to be not what you want, mount a challenge in the primary.
I apologize for my defeatism, but I think defeating socialism is impossible and delaying it is the best we can do. If we can delay it for a couple of centuries, I will be well pleased.
I know I seem to be a quitter for my belief we can’t prevent the nation’s slide into socialism, but I am only looking at history. When has a nation gone as far as we have toward socialism and not embraced it completely. I can’t see it.
America before WWI had the moral, informed electorate to prevent socialism. Today we do not. That is the difference I see.
We have half the nation paying no federal taxesa as it is. We are nearing that tipping point where most people are on the dole in some manner and will vote for whoever promises them more. This is not a prescription for defeating socialism.
So I appreciate your desire to defeat socialism but I don’t agree that is possible. I’ll continue to do my part and vote for every conservative I can and vote against entitlements and socialist programs and vote against those who support them. But when given a choice between RINOs like Fiorina and Whitman, against outright communists like Barbara Boxer and Governor Moonbeam, I am forced to support the RINO in favor of delaying socialism.
I wish I felt we could defeat socialism. I hope and pray we can. I apologize deeply that I can’t see this outcome. Prior generations of moral, informed voters could have. Todays generation of brainwashed earth-first, gimmee, moral relativistic, apathetic takers, no I can’t see them fighting the good fight. All that leaves me is a rear guard delaying action against the domestic enemies.

Carly Fiorina may be the most conservative candidate that can be elected here...if the results are any indication, that is.
Beware people entering politics from big business and big military, for just that reason. (And in business, they're trained to be mercenary, while in the military many are brainwashed into a grossly high respect for authority.)
That conforms exactly with what I said, excepting that I put no value judgment on how hard Arnold fought the unions. I only know that Davis did not fight them and that Brown will not fight them.
Freepers claimed that Arnold screwed up the state, and that was a flat out lie. The state’s finances were completely screwed up and out of balance long before Arnold won the Gray Davis recall election.
At worst, as you pointed out, Arnold is to blame for not being effective fighting the unions and restoring fiscal sense to California. But as I stated, as is the truth, Arnold did not CAUSE the problems. Us voters voting in a parade of propositions like Prop 98 (a terrible law I opposed hard) that mandate spending limits and tie the hands of those who want to cut spending, are far more to blame than Arnold, in creating our $20 billion budget deficit and nationally worst bond rating.
