.- Italian singer Andrea Bocelli has told the story of his mothers pregnancy, during which doctors suggested that she abort him because he would be born with a disability. In a new video he praises his mother for making the right choice, saying other mothers should take encouragement from the story.
In a YouTube video titled Andrea Bocelli tells a little story about abortion, the singer sits at a piano and tells his audience a story about a young pregnant wife hospitalized for a simple attack of appendicitis.
The doctors had to apply some ice on her stomach and when the treatments ended the doctors suggested that she abort the child. They told her it was the best solution because the baby would be born with some disability.
But the young brave wife decided not to abort, and the child was born, he continued.
That woman was my mother, and I was the child. Maybe I'm partisan, but I can say that it was the right choice.
He said he hoped the story could encourage many mothers in difficult situations but who want to save the life of their baby.
Bocelli has congenital glaucoma and lost his vision completely at age 12 after getting hit in the head during a soccer game.
The video itself is produced by www.IamWholeLife.com, an initiative of the Human Rights, Education and Relief Organization (HERO). HERO is a partner of the pro-life movie star Eduardo Verastegui.
God bless his mother....and him!!
wow. What a great example. One would have to be truly, truly consumed by evil to not be impacted by this story about how his mother was told to abort because he may have a disability. This is the second story in just a few months. Drip. Drip. God is spreading his Word.
We should all be thankful our mothers were pro life in regards to ourselves.
Well I guess that’s going to be the end of the MSM’s love affair with him then isn’t it.
But well done sir for being a witness to the truth.
Similar story here. My mom was kicked in the stomach while pregnant with me in 1973. Docs told her again and again to get an abortion, I would have been severely deformed, etc. She told them to go punt and here I am - perfectly normal. Well, physically at least :)
He and Tim Tebow really have a lot of nerve. /sarc
Yes, he was -- but Andrea, like so many others, proves that disability does not mean inability. One of the most beautiful voices I have ever had the pleasure to hear. God bless his brave mother for trusting in herself, that she would be able to help her child through whatever he would endure.
Thank you, Andrea, for telling us your "little story" -- I as well hope it encourages every woman who may find herself in a similar situation. Life is precious, hold on to it no matter what.
Pinging you to a beautiful story. :)
bump
OH MAN props to his Mom
BTW i like this dude he has new PBS concert I just saw explain his career on PBS for one of crazy pledge break
I love this man and his voice. He moves me. Now I know why.
Great story.
A few more :
Ethel Waters’ mother was 12 when she was raped by a white man. That’s a PC cause for abortion if ever there was one.
John Wesley’s family was extremely poor, and he was to be the 15th child (another cause for abortion—but the world would have been the poorer for it).
Beethoven’s family was sickly, the previous kids had TB or were deaf or blind, etc. Not a good candidate family to have another child.
Wow, I did not know that.. God bless his mom and him! He has one of the most beautiful voices i’ve ever heard. He’s amazing in concert.
bttt
One of the most touching Pro Life things I have ever heard is “I am” by Victor Buono (King Tut on the old Batman series). Moves me to tears every time I hear it...
Thank you for the ping. Next time, include the tissues.
