COLUMBIA - Lt. Gov Andre Bauer has taken a polygraph exam to refute accusations made against him last week by opponent Nikki Haley.
“I’m not willing to have that kind of false accusation go unchallenged,” Bauer said. “She made a false accusation about me, and I wanted to prove that I was telling the truth.”
In a debate last week, Haley accused Bauer of being responsible for charges of marital infidelity against her.
Bauer denied the accusation, and challenged Haley to take side-by-side lie detector tests to prove who’s telling the truth.
Haley refused to take a lie detector test, but Bauer volunteered to submit to a polygraph test without her.
“The people have the right to know who’s telling the truth,” Bauer said. “This is transparency in government.”

These guys are so desperate that they’d rather talk about this in order to hide their lack of good policy.

Haley may or may not have cheated, but the burden of proof should be on the accusers, NOT her.

Well, if I was accused of coordinating the ‘attacks’ on Haley and I wasn’t doing it, I’d try pretty hard to disprove the allegations. Unlike what Haley is doing regarding the allegations against her.

All Bauer needs is a democrat hack to do the polygraph and he can “pass” it.
I’m not interested in his lie detector test. I’m interested to know if he disavows the smears. Not if he was behind it, but did he disavow it.
He’s still trying to play it both ways. He wants us to believe she’s guilty, but he’s not behind it.
I don’t care if she’s guilty. I care that someone thought that was a proper line of attack. If all you’ve got is a smear, you’re not worthy of office.
The smear he is responding to was that he is the source of the smear campaign against Haley. Not what, if anything, Haley may or may not have done.
FWIW? Look Pissant, you and your buddies are trashing Haley becuase of Sarah Palin, I admired you and your one-man army for Duncan Hunter, I personally have nothing against the man, he is solid conservative.....but to play up this trash won’t stop Haley to your disappointment
Agreed. Seems to me the accusers ought to be first up at the polygraph.
Did she really refuse a polygraph or is that the way the story was written? If she did refuse, any competent opponent will beat her to death with that fact.
On the contrary. If these guys are making stuff up, I want to see them sued into oblivion for slander. OTOH, if she is lying through her teeth, as I suspect, it would be nice to get rid of her ASAP, would it not?
And what does this have to do with Palin or Hunter? Nothing.
I think Bauer should take a polygraph to prove that he and the blogger aren’t having an affair. Hey, maybe he’d pass it, maybe not. It will be “good riddance” of this slimeball come tomorrow when Haley takes him out.
So categorically and vehemently denying them isn't enough?
He may not be the source. A candidate isn’t responsible for everything his followers do, and sometimes in the spirit of the moment they may do something very embarrassing. I would question if he disavowed the smearers.
Since Bauer’s people are behind the rumors, its reasonable for Haley to accuse him, but I would take him at his word that he isn’t behind it. Did he disavow the people who are? If he did and sounded like he meant it, I would leave it there.
I saw the latest poll and Bauer is in 4th place. He truly is a weird one. He blew his chance to be gov when he started telling Sanford what to do, instead of letting the process unfold. He’s a politician only and a bad politician.
Do the names Bill Clinton, Larry Craig, John Ensign ring a bell?

Unfortunately for you and the leftists you frequently parrot when you attack conservatives, when someone makes an unsupported allegation against another person, the burden of proof is on the accuser, not the accused.
At least that’s how it’s done here in the USA, where our citizens are presumed innocent until PROVEN guilty. Granted, it may be different in whatever Orwellian alternate reality where you seem to spend most of your time.
