Congressman Suggests Putting “Drill Baby Drill” Supporters & Michael Steele in Prison
Liberty Juice ^ | 06/07/2010 | Chris Bounds

Posted on 06/07/2010 9:02:32 AM PDT by ChrisBoundsTX

You probably would not believe this if you did not hear it for yourself.

On June 4th, Democrat Florida Congressmen Alan Grayson suggested “tracking down every single person who has said “Drill Baby Drill” and putting them all in prison…with Michael Steele” on the Stephanie Miller radio show:

Audio

Congressman Grayson may not actually believe in carrying out his idiotic comments literally. However, you have got to look back at when our federal government actually imprisoned thousands of AMERICAN CITIZENS during WWI and WWII – because of their race or because they spoke out against the government. Where is the media hate speech crowd?

“I’m wondering what your position is on the internment issue”?

I'm a big fan of the Internment. With it, we get access to all sorts of online information, like, for example, Free Republic.

The Huffington Post is probably not too eager to comment on that.

Believe me. This guy is letting the cat out of the bag. There are jail cells in the future for anyone who does not agree with these evil people.

Grayson could do as someone as Leftist as himself did today, and resign.

That would be the appropriate thing to do, but of course being that the guy is a sleazebag....

“Who is to make that decision? Maybe all tea partiers are to be imprisoned for being a “necessary threat” to Obama’s agenda to “save” America.”

That’s just plain asinine. Tea Partiers were not allies with Stalin and Hitler, nor did they execute a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, or anything remotely close to such acts of war.

I understand your point in attempting to link the philosophy, if you will, behind a government interning a group of people based on race, or relation to our enemies, but the analogy is lacking.

“feeling” or “necessity”.

I doubt the decision was based on “feeling”. There were Japanese sympathizers in the United States. Furthermore, not all American Japanese were interned, as I pointed out earlier.

Nonetheless, I do not believe our governments solution at that time was the best way in protecting or national security and borders.

The government has stated that tea partiers may be “right-wing extremists.”

It does not matter if an American is a sympathizer - they are still American citizens and have rights. Should we jail all Americans who sympathize with Iraqis, Afghanis and Muslims in the War on Terror?

It is an American right to protest the government. Now if Americans break a law - such as Treason - then prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. But we absolutely cannot let the federal government suspend the Constitution when it deems necessary.

Furthermore, many Japanese and Germans were loyal Americans. A lot of them served in the military during WWI and WWII. In return the government confiscated all of their possessions, most of which was never returned.

Liberty and tyranny cannot co-exist.

“The government has stated that tea partiers may be “right-wing extremists.””

Again, your analogy is lacking. The Tea Party movement is not WWII. You’re comparing apples and oranges.

“Furthermore, many Japanese and Germans were loyal Americans. A lot of them served in the military during WWI and WWII. In return the government confiscated all of their possessions, most of which was never returned.”

First of all, Germans were not interned. Second of all, I’m going to give you the benefit of a doubt and assume you aren’t making sweeping generalizations. Not all Japanese Americans were interned. To be clear, I’m assuming that when you say “all of their possessions”, you’re referring to those Japanese who were interned. Is this correct?

“Liberty and tyranny cannot co-exist.”

This is liberal-speak bullsh!t. To suggest that the internment of a segment of the Japanese population in America amounted to tyranny is absurd. Live in N. Korea for a few years and then talk to me about tyranny.

“It is an American right to protest the government.”

Provided it is a PEACEFUL protest.

“... then prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. But we absolutely cannot let the federal government suspend the Constitution when it deems necessary.”

I wholeheartedly agree.

I never did get the message to him. I used to have a desktop link to his site, but that stopped working. I tried to sign up/log in and it was so cumbersome I couldn’t do it and gave up. He had been sending me form letters via e mail when I sent messages. Maybe I’m blocked out now?

Personally, I think he’s tied in with the mob. I’ll give it another shot though. Thanks for the reply, presently.

I finally managed to figure out grayson's convoluted web page. Here is what I sent him:

So you want to put ME, one of your constituents in prison eh? Here is a bet for you, staffer. Alan Grayson ends up in prison before me. What say you?

I know Grayson the Mobster never sees these. And if he did he wouldn't care.

It could work - he's such an embarrassment to the Dems that I've been tempted several times to send him money.

Please send money to the Defeat Grayson effort instead:
