As we predicted the Helen Thomas story has blown up over the weekend. Thomas did not show up for the White House briefing this morning, and word has it the WHCA is discussing the matter. It is a sad turn of affairs for a reporter who had, until now, such a long, illustrious, and pioneering career (our own Tommy Christopher notes “seats at #whbrief are assigned, but if someone doesn’t show, they’re fair game. Except Helen’s seat”). And it may get worse.
Rabbi David Nesenoff, whose interview with Thomas at the White House Jewish Heritage Day resulted in her now infamous remarks about Jews “getting the hell out of Palestine” and going “home” to Germany, or Poland, appeared on Fox & Friends this morning. Nesenoff noted that he was just as surprised as anyone else at Thomas’ comments and that he had intended the interview to be “light”: “I was dumbfounded and hurt by it.”
Nesenoff also revealed that “there was more to the video” and that “part two is coming out in the next day or so.”

I have great difficulty seeing how a person can hate a group of people. There are always some bad apples in every group, but you should not hate all of them. This has been my observation as some one who has watched the passing parade.
He said BJ was an insufferable bore?
Speaking of The Won, I hope he is watching the outcry over Thomas’ antisemitism and quaking in his light loafers. He’s worse than she is, but I bet he never imagined the brouhaha against such sentiments would reach this pitch.
Helen has actually performed a great favor for Jews and conservatives. For this brief moment, her unguarded statement exposed the truth of the left’s purely evil anti-semitism. It was like one of those sci-fi B-grade movies in which the alien walks around in human form, but with the right glasses one can glimpse their true visage. She showed the world what her fellow travelers really think of Israel and the Jews. No series of scholarly exposes in conservative tomes could have more forcefully made the case that the left - historically and presently - is rabidly antisemitic. Glenn Beck has correctly made the case that socialism and communism have been responsible for the death of tens of millions of Jews over the last 2 centuries (the National SOCIALIST Workers Party!).
Can’t say this will have any perceptible effect on liberal American Jews. But, as the story continues to grow legs (no thanks, of course, to the MSM -which has reflexively trumpeted “freedom of speech” in defense of the indefensible), it will get their attention. And, it will necessarily feed the anti-Israel narrative that the Hussein regime is deatlhy afraid of. That’s why Hussein’s folks are rapidly making room under the Hussein Express bus for Ms. Thomas. “Rev, slide on down a bit! Granny, see if you can’t squeeze in a little closer to Daschle! Helen’s a fatty - gotta make room!!!”
They were just upset with David Brinkley because he called Bill Clinton’s relection victory speech as “one of the worst things I’ve ever heard...”

What’s new? Helen has been making disgustingly ugly remarks, racist or otherwise, for decades now. How is this, her latest, any different? She’s just saying what Obama and the leftist DemocRats are all thinking. Oh wait. It’s the PC thingy again. Only certain things can be blurted out, and only by certain people at a certain time. The Irael haters don’t want to tip their hand too early on in the game. That might show the whole world what they’re up to. Got it.
Helen Thomas will be 90 yrs old in August, she is an Old Woman, and I don’t think anyone should pay much attention to her rants....She should retire and her family should care for her....
I have been around Ageing Seniors they can say some whacked out things.... Due to senelity and dimentia..
I don’t know if she was a nice young woman, a good wife, mother and friend, her relationship with G-d, but she should just retire and enjoy a glass of Iced Tea and watch the birds....
I would take her out of the political Scene if she was my mother or grandmother....
That, plus antisemites see so much of their prejudice reflected around the world, it’s easy, IF they are liberal [and most are] to slip into the misconception that many Americans secretly share their views. Then comes one of these moments and BAM. Americans reveal that we are NOT like so many others. The majority of us won’t tolerate this type of vile hatred, which I’m sure comes as a nasty shock to a lot of lefties out there.
