BOSTON (AP) A grand jury has been convened in Massachusetts to hear evidence in the 1986 shooting death of the brother of a former university professor who is accused of killing three colleagues in Alabama.
John Polio, a retired Braintree police chief, said Friday that he and his wife, who worked in an administrative position in the Police Department, had been subpoenaed to testify this week before a grand jury that is investigating the case against the professor, Amy Bishop. A spokesman for the Norfolk County district attorneys office would not comment.
Ms. Bishop, who lived with her family in Braintree, a Boston suburb, shot her brother in their home. The death of Seth Bishop, 18, was ruled an accident.
But the authorities began investigating the case again after Ms. Bishop was charged in a Feb. 12 rampage at the University of Alabama, Huntsville, where she was a biology professor.
The police never told the district attorneys office that after Ms. Bishop shot her brother, she tried to commandeer a car at gunpoint and refused to drop her gun until officers ordered her to do so repeatedly, prosecutors have said. Those events were described in Braintree police reports but not in a report written by a state police detective assigned to the district attorneys office.

Crazy Amy ping...
With all the other stuff going on in the news I almost forgot about Amy the whackjob.
“I’m Dr. Amy Fisher!” (said while at an IHOP when demanding a child seat from another customer)
Horse escapes: 1986
Shut barn door: 2010
A record?
And are they also investigating the corrupt Massachusetts Prosecutor who intervened to arrange her release?
I forget his name, but he is still an active politician. Democrat, of course.
Ah, I read it a little more carefully. “The police never told the district attorneys office that after Ms. Bishop shot her brother, she tried to commandeer a car at gunpoint and refused to drop her gun until officers ordered her to do so repeatedly, prosecutors have said.”
This is a lie, evidently attested to by a police officer “assigned” to this same DA’s office. So, this is now the cover story. Shouldn’t this, too, be investigated?
Delahunt.
