Herman Cain lead a Q&A session at the Douglas County Tea Party when a young woman asked him about the attack by the Left on our Judeo-Christian heritage in America...He addressed her question, then went to the last question of the night, and the crowd was not expecting what happened next...

Thanks. When Frances Scott Keyes wrote the lyrics it was a poem IN DEFENSE OF FORT MC HENRY and was published in the local paper. It didn’t take long for the guys at the local watering hole to realize that the words fit a popular bar song TO ANACHRION (sp) IN HEAVEN (About a local whore who got into heaven by mistake) It’s difficult to find accurate words of the last song...most have been “cleaned up”...But years ago I ran across them...Quite descriptive.

There are four stanza...although most books only contain three (IF you can find them)

He finished with the fourth stanz:

A guy in the crowd began singing the last verse of The Star Spangled Banner in a great voice. Slowly the crowd arose with hands over hearts as the man continued. Then wuld applause. Here are the lyrics:

I just quickly posted the note by the guy posting the video...I didn’t see that...my bad! HAHA!

My fifth graders could get extra credit for memorizing all four...Third grade was required to memorize the first and to sing the Preamble of the Constitution (School House Rock version) and “Fifty Nifty United States in which they sang the names of all fifty in alphabetical order....When they were in high school in US History...They still could sing all three...Teacher had to change her bonus point requirements cause they all still knew all three and would break out in song just to make the point.

Here's some more music trivia for you. Columbus kept two journals...In the one for the King he noted that when his men landed they fell on their knees and sang the “TE DEUM”

The first book published in the colonies was a music book: THE MASSACHUSETT BAY PSALM HYMNAL. On Page 100 of that book was a loose translation of the “TE DEUM”. For years it was referred to as “OL Hundred”

Anyone want to guess what we call it today? (No fair peeking!)
