COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) A GOP lawmaker hoping to be the state's first female governor is getting publicity for all the wrong reasons.
First a political blogger said he and Rep. Nikki Haley had an inappropriate physical relationship when he worked for her in 2007. Then a lobbyist said he had a one-night stand with her in a Salt Lake City hotel room during a school choice conference.
On Thursday, state Sen. Jake Knotts used an ethnic slur to refer to Haley, whose parents immigrated from India.

Anyone who thinks a smear campaign is the way to win office has already disqualified himself from public service.
These guys need to find another line of work. And, preferably, another political party.

For Gov we have the ex-Lt Governor who was speeding at like 90 mph, as a pilot tried to take off too much airplane loaded with fuel on a short runway and hit a tree, tried to blame the airplane mechanic- I’d vote for a Democrat before I’d vote for that clown.
Another good old boy Republican who the establishment likes
And Haley, who is a fiscal conservative.
The psychos are going after Haley who will get my vote. Sarah Palin was in Columbia SC to support Haley, nothing more needs to be said.
SCREW the racist State Senator, I don’t get to vote against that scumbag.

Let's see...Haley's "mentor" is Gov. Sanford (he of disgraced repute)
but, her candidacy is backed by the state Tea Party people...
I'll leave that one to the good people of South Carolina to decide!
(and really, it's not like the other candidates are so attractive, or there's some dead-cert evidence about infidelity...good luck, SC!)

Earth to Haley campaign: Tell Sanford to STFU and go away until the election is over. No matter how crazy this gets - the last person you need identifying himself with your campaign is this schmutz.

Gov. Sanford was a good mentor. His personal life appears to be crap but have you ever heard the guy speak? Sharp as a tack.

Marchant said he spoke up after rumors in political circles resurfaced following Folks' claims, and Haley's statements that she had been faithful to her husband of 13 years prompted him to confess to his wife. So he's sitting at home watching the local news and he turns to his wife and says, "Hey honey, she's lying. I F***ed her in Salt Lake 6 years ago when we went to that conference...."
Is that what I'm supposed to believe?

That's why I trust it to the good S.C. people...!!
All politics is local, in some ways, and I've got Ohio to worry about here...thanks for the info., and you all hold down the fort down there - I'll be rooting for Haley! ;)

I shot a 250 pound wild hog last year and it really looked a lot like Jake Knotts, but probably tasted better. Jake stinks.

Doesn't SC already have enough problems with their elected? And now this idiot, too?
