Israel told them to let them inspect and deliver the goods. The ships were told they’d be boarded. Guess what they were boarded. The reason Israel has a blockade of Gaza is because rockets are being fired constantly from Gaza into Israel. Israel has a right to inspect these shipments to protect its citizens. Pat wants it both ways in this fence-straddler. "While Israel has the right to X, she shouldn't have done Y in accomplishing it" is the formulation of a moralistic second-guesser who wants the world to be other than it is. "While the U.S. had the right to oppose Hitler, it shouldn't have killed all those German civilians" is a classic example.

This is the one area of Pat Buchanan's public life that has always left me scratching my head. He has always been so entirely anti-Israel that I doubt Israel could ever do anything that would cause Buchanan to even remain ambivalent. I can't believe that he is pro terrorist. That makes no sense. He is just 'knee jerk' anti Israel.
