No you can take my comment at face value.
This article is just red meat for this place. Nobody wants to actually discuss the issue. They just want to rip it up with like-minders.
Lets stipulate that he is an anti-Semite. Now what? What about the content of his words?

None of the analogies match up because we aren't murdering people who sneak into the US. If we started to, what do you think the response would be? People would be outraged.
Not the DEAD ones!
And any OTHERS who we thinking about invading our country and taking things that are NOT theirs would be a wee bit less likely to try it!

He's always been an anti-semite. Can't stand the guy even when he sounds reasonable because under it all is this hatred/scorn for the Jews.

What is with the knee-jerk pro-Israel sentiment, anyhow? Isnt that just another kind of prejudice? If you think it is "prejudiced" to identify with peace-loving people who just want to be left alone to raise their children, enjoy liberty, and build their own country, then yes. Otherwise, if you're sane, hell no.

And a love of America.
More love for America than most "elites". And not many of those left nowadays.
Remember that at least he is on "our side". I'd rather listen/think/discuss and leave all the ad hominem stuff alone.

Yes that is prejudice and it is ironic that you mention “peace-loving” and “want to be left alone” as descriptors of the state of Israel. Well gee, it sure seems that way TO THEM. But how did they win such a position for themselves in the first place? Fighting wars and taking land.
The way some defend Israel with such zeal should make most free-thinking people pause for thought.
We ought to have no illusions regarding Israel, yet most here seem to rush into a weird defense of her at every opportunity and even when it is an unreasonable defense.
I defend my family even when it is wrong, but Israel is not family. America first.

My oh my oh my. How times change.
Buchanan used to be a big favorite here.
Leading up to the 2000 election, if you read FR you’d have thought Buchanan was going to win.

My goodness, there must be a miscommunication. The people McCarthy uncovered were mostly Jews, weren’t they? I guess not Harry Hopkins?
To: pillut48
Buchanan is a complete moral idiot. I think CNN puts him on to embarrass conservatives and to nourish the canard that conservative are racists.

When they learn to police their own and not allow their territory to be used to fire thousands of rockets into Israel then they can have more. Until then they have proven themselves too criminally inept to be trusted without adult supervision.

Answer the question.
What would you do if hundreds of rockets were fired into the US from Mexico and the terrorists were kidnapping American soldiers on the border while the Government in Mexico turned a blind eye to the terrorists actions?

Pat Buchanan may very well be on the road to becoming the Father Coughlin of our time. Coughlin was an anti-Semetic speaker, radio personality, writer, political populist and Jew-hating propagandist of the 1930's
Radio stations and newspapers eventually stopped providing a platform for him and he was ordered by his superiors to return to priestly parish duties.
But during the many years of his heyday he had legions of listeners and followers who agreed with his virulent hatred of Jews personally and Jewry in general.
Today's Buchanan is more sophisticated and subtle than yesterday's Coughlin, of course. But the fact that Pat is still carried by various media is disappointing and disgusting.
Maybe someday he'll wake up to the fact he's being used by the Left as a sample of an "anti-Israel conservative" which, of course, makes all conservatives look bad....which is the Left's aim.
Go away, Buchanan. You're becoming nuttier and more dangerous every day you live and breathe and hate.

No they were followers of the antisemitic atheist sect known as communism, at a time when Stalin was preparing to deport millions of Jews on a death march through Siberia.
