Poizner: Tax Dollars for Illegals’ Abortions Posted on June 3 2010 by Eric Hogue

From Michael Rothfeld of the LA Times in Sacramento tonight.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner has said his experience in Sacramento as insurance commissioner has “crystallized” his thinking as a conservative.

A document obtained by The Times shows that Poizner, who in past campaigns described himself as a moderate, has apparently shifted far more than previously reported. It shows that he took generally liberal positions on matters unrelated to the world of insurance, from support of needle exchanges to a suggestion that he backed reparations to African Americans for slavery.

A memo marked “Confidential” and “Draft,” the document was compiled by longtime Poizner aide Jesse Huff for the 2006 insurance commissioner’s race and summarized positions the candidate had taken for his losing 2004 Assembly run using questionnaires he had filled out that year for various interest groups.

Poizner earned a 100% rating in 2004 from the abortion rights group NARAL Pro-Choice California for his answers on its survey, according to Amy Everitt, the group’s state director.

All the main candidates for governor in California are Democrats. Whatever happens we get a Democrat. A rich elitist liar Democrat.

Moles.

All of Steve’s negative ads have convinced me to vote for someone else. I don’t want to vote for someone who only campaigns with negative ads.

Well, I’ll take Poizner’s evolving values to someone who thinks we should have TaxPayer funded Baby-Killing, A.K.A Meg Whitman.

6 days straight of his robo calls prompted me to post this. He is unaccountable and unavailable at his bureaucrat job. I had an issue and emailed him a year ago and never even received a note back from staff or an auto response. But, I am important enough as a voter to receive a call every day.

I predict that if Steve wins the primary he will steer far left for the general. Base, schmase Steve will throw out what he says now for his new more enlightened San Francisco/LA values moving toward November.

It is extremely rare for someone to change personality or core after the age of 28. Usually only brought on by a life changing event. Guy gets 100 percent from planned parenthood and does a 180. Steve has some splain’in to do or I don’t believe it.

I doubt your opinion about the age of 28.

However, even if it is true, his stated position of moving the number of abortions in the State of California is still WAY better than Meg Whitman's statement of support of Tax-Payer funded abortions in March of this year.

This issue alone, makes Meg Whitman questionable on everything else.

If I cannot trust her to make the easy choice, morally speaking, of defending the weakest among us, how can I trust her to make principled decisions about anything else?

Sorry, that should have been:

The Poizner campaign is to a very great extent a referendum on illegal immigration as an issue.

If he loses, those who want to profit from illegal activity in one way or another won’t shut up about it. And, that will have an impact on you whether you know it or not.

Whatever your other issues, this one is more important.

Actually the more I know about Steve, the more I think he is campaigning for Moonbeam. Think about it. He has spent his own money on raising taxes and other liberal causes. Just a fact. He has to know in his heart of hearts that he can not use his currently espoused position to win the general election.

He needs to win LA and SF to be Governor. The only way to win for Steve against Jerry after the primary is for Steve to move much further left in his message. So there are only two choices for Steve to be viable. Abandon the base he is trying to woo now or go down in flames. Does he love me? Does he love me not? My money is on Eddie Haskell to throw us under the bus.

Beyond that the guy will not run on resume or plan. I have a big problem with that. Steve, what is you plan to get your state empoyees off farmville without ruining their crops? Sorry the single ones may have to use their own connection to hook up on match too.

Steve Poizner was for taxpayer-funded abortions AND partial-birth abortions before he was against them... just like everything else he's flipped on. Those who think 100% Planned Parenthood-approved Poizner is going to do anything to stop taxpayer-funded abortions are delusional. Not only that, but Poizner lacks the fiscal conservative background to do what needs to be done to save this sinking ship.

The idea is for the best Fiscal Conservative to beat the Democrat. Poizner is NOT the choice unless you want the Democrat to win.

Whew.. California is screwed.

I just got another robo call from Steve tonight. To paraphrase. This is “business man” Steve Poizner. Meg is bad blah, blah blah. I am the only candidate that is conservative. Blah, blah blah. Meg is evil, blah blah blah.

Well I wonder if the self labeled “business man” is taking down a state paycheck. What is his business? I thought insurance commissioner is a full time job. Maybe it is a side hobby to his “business”.

Does anyone know that in a time of fiscal crisis Poisner’s department doesn’t accept U.S. Currency. True. I look an any bill and it says legal tender for all debts public and private. But, the department of Insurance doesn’t take cash.
