BTW, I didn’t realize Sanford & Son was racist...back in those days it was very popular, although I didn’t care for it.

Exactly. They compared a black presidential family to a sitcom about a black family.
If someone compared the Bushes to the Ozzie and Harriet show, would that be racist?
