He can't get death, but Peruvian prisons have no plumbing at all - just a hole in the floor, and I'm not kidding or exaggerating at all.

I expect Greta will mention it in about 15 minutes on her show. I’m sure she WILL devote a few minutes to it when there’s some actual news to report, and bring Beth on again.
But SINCE then, Greta has become another kind of show altogether, and she won’t return full=time to “true crime”.

I think they need to bring back hanging.
These creeps get off too easily with a quick painless death compared to what their victims had to endure at their hands.

He will stick out like a sore thumb in the prison population and will be a target. And the prison officials wont care what happens to him, so in the end, he gets what is due to him. I hope he enjoys being on the receiving end for a change. He can then relive what he put those poor girls through, first in the Peruvian prison, then in hell for eternity.

Bummer. Chile has no death penalty since 2001.
Hope that doesnt stop them from extraditing him to Peru, which DOES have a death penalty.
You can bet your ass they'll extradite, after all, he's ONLY a Gringo [and Danish, at that] ...

NO, Peru does not have the death penalty for this type of murder; the only crime punishable in Peru by death is for treason, and occassionally, but only rarely, for the murder of a policeman. Doesn't matter - what he's gonna get is worse than death. Girl's father has monetary and political juice ...
Girl's father is gonna find some brute inside and promise him big bucks once his sentence has been served ...
All the con has to do is make sure that Van Der Sloot has his ass kicked once a day [twice on Sundays] and that he is introduced to "Bubba Paco" - the 300 lb. gorilla who is doing life without parole ...
Then, the night before Van Der Sloot's prison term ends, he mysteriously "slips" on a bar of soap - hits his head, and dies ...
