Al-Fajr Media Centre announced that top Al Qaeda operative Osama bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Damjan Al-Dawsari had been killed in a drone attack in Nezai Narray near Angoor Adda in South Waziristan.

They had earlier reported the death of Al Qaeda’s third-ranking leader Mustafa Abu Al-Yazid.

Dawsari was killed when meeting in the house of Omar Khaitab, a close associate of militant commander Maulvi Nazir.

Isn't it interesting that within hours of an attack the Pakistani's and AQ media are able to announce, with such detail and certainty, the identities of the (very degraded) enemy? AQ doesn't seem to need DNA proof...

Could be an inside job? Maybe somebody ain't ordering pizzas anymore?

Often, the confirmation of a hit is not the body, but the sudden absence of (tracked) communication and the internal communications of their associates.

Al-Fajr steps up right away because they need to tell the target's associates to duck.

He thinks he can have it both ways—appease sensible people by killing bad guys while doing it by remote control. He will never Cheney up & do the right thing with these terrorists.

Good point. Our media and military and politicians often fail to realize that AQ organizes around tasks, not personalities. They form chains of command for a particular task and then disband, to reform later for another task.

Sort of like drops of rain all falling together and joining together when they land in the same bucket (task). Once the bucket is full, it gets dumped (9/11).

Some of the water evaporates to start the same cycle all over again, some soaks into its new environment. You can't fight it by chasing this or that raindrop. You have to put lids on the buckets. You don't form a committee to figure out what got wet first.

Sounds simplistic, but this analogy goes to the heart of our own weakness. We rely on high regimented models of self-organization to be effective, to succeed. Our military and corporate and political chains of command.

But we are in their sandbox now, and if we choose to stay we have to do better at anticipating the enemy. Otherwise we become a reactive force only, chasing ghosts, while they laugh and wave good bye from the distance.

It astonishes me that we don't see that bin Laden's primary goal of 9/11 was to draw us into Afghanistan. He knew that there, we would expend much more blood and treasure than 9/11 ever cost us. At minimal cost and risk to his fellow Arabs (note: I did not say Muslims).

Man, can they get his whole name on the tombstone?

“Welcome to Hell” works just fine for me.

It takes more time to say his name than it took to kill him.

>>>Osama bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Damjan Al-Dawsari <<<

The reason these al Qaeda types have adopted such long names is they are hoping that there isn't enough storage in the Predator targeting unit to store their entire name and therefore they won't be targeted.

Well.....maybe!!! These guys aren't real bright!

You can tell the hierarchy of Saudi's by the number of names. "bin" means "son of" or "family of". The Saudi's are very elitist socially and "who's your daddy?" determines everything from who you can marry to how much money and power you have.

Going three deep and naming the tribe means this jihadist was very well connected.

Al Qaida’s Executive Pension Plan is the only one that’s not underfunded. They’ll never pay out anything.

Thanks for the Islamic genealogy history lesson. Didn't know all that.

Personally, the more with “bin martyred” as the last appellation is fine by me.

The neighbors always wanted to put in a pool, they can take advantage of the crater.

I wonder if anyone has thought of a different guidance technique for our missiles -- instead of heat-seeking, or video, the missiles could be stench-seeking.

Thanks gandalftb; everyone, be sure to check out gandalftb's comments about this success.
