Certainly, but when that places you in the position of defending the ridiculous it reflects poorly. In this case it comes across as a knee-jerk “management is always right” missive rather than a thoughtful statement.
No, they're not always right. But they're always in charge, so it's pointless to whine about it.
If a company has a policy you don't like, don't work for them. ...or start your own business and run it the "Right Way".
These types of issues aren't so much about being right, but about having the right to control your company the way you choose.
