Senior State Department officials said Wednesday they have been given a warm reception at the Kampala review conference of the International Criminal Court, which they are attending as observers. It is another sign of U.S. re-engagement with the 12-year-old ICC, which was rejected by the Bush administration.

Former President Bill Clinton signed the Rome Statute setting up the ICC. But the treaty was never sent to the U.S. Senate for ratification amid conservative concern about politicization and judicial over-reach by the court, and the Bush administration rescinded the U.S. signature in 2002.

Democrats keep undermining the US Constitution and want us to be ruled by some international entity, like the UN, and turn the US into a third world country.

Their goal is to be one of the Global Nomenklatura who lives lives eating fine food and wine on private jets while the world supports their lifestyles by taxation, regulation and litigation.

They are power mad jackasses, the ICCC would supercede the Constitution, which the Liberals want.

We HAVE to win the November elections. If they tried this today, they would be able to ratify with a majority of both house and Senate. I don’t think it will happen but they sure could try. I didn’t think healthcare would pass in all its ugly forms either. November can’t get here soon enough.

I disagree - house has no say in treaty ratification, and it would take 2/3 of the senate in quorom. I don’t see anyway the would be able to get that number, unless they attempt to prevent half the senators from even attending.
