The Governor has the right to appoint whom he pleases to the Supreme Court. He campaigned on not appointing or reappointing liberal judges, which this character was. Unlike his Republican predecessor, Christie Whitman (a childhood friend of the country club Bushes), he will not appoint or reappoint only far left liberals who make disastrous decisions for the taxpayers to the Court.

I don’t know anything about this panel.

I don’t know anything about the merit of the decision.

However from a Govenor Christie character standpoint, I know this is good for New Jersey. I don’t live there, but have loved ones that do.

lost the services of a state advisory panel today after its members resigned in protest.

Excellent. Hood riddance!
Another group of useless government appointed hacks, feeding fat off the tax payer . Who needs a “state advisory panel” who are probably Democratic Party partisans who were appointed by Democrats to push a far left political agenda?

I bet members of the panel that resigned were among the judges that determined that Lautenberg could replace Torecelli on the ballot just weeks before the election in violation of the law.

Good on Christie.

This may be an excellent opportunity to abolish the whole commission. The legislature may be more willing to “save the money” than to allow the Gov. to appoint conservatives.

Christie, who has faced a series of rebukes from critics who say the move jeopardizes the independence of the Judiciary, lost the services of a state advisory panel today after its members resigned in protest.

Replace them all! The State of New Jersey and all of us will be the better for it!

Gov. Christie definitely deserves A Big Atta Boy: an elected official that actually does what he says he will. Wow. Impressive.

They've just handed Christie a huge victory. With their resignations, they have paved the way for Christie to abolish this board with an executive order similar to the one Corzine used to create it.

Somewhere, Fiorello LaGuardia is laughing uproariously and saying, "Now stick to 'em good, Chris! Take away their money and power!"

Christie is looking like a serious Presidential contender (and this coming from a Hoosier that thought there was very little good left in NJ)..

The Judicial Advisory Panel was and IS A SCAM to pack the NJ Supreme Court, it is as bad or worse than FDR’s move to increase the numbers of US Supreme Court Justices.

Everyone involved with the inception of the Judicial Advisory Panel knew this before the bill was passed out of committee, Corzine knew this would be his lasting legacy to permanently pack the NJ Supreme Court, the activist majority of NJ’s legal field professionals damn well knew this from the start.

Anyone who is claiming otherwise is either lying to your face or is a johnny-come-lately idiot.
