Breaking hard--Jim Greer has been arrested at his home. Charges currently unknown.

Update: The former chairman of the Republican Party of Florida was arrested Wednesday, and charged with grand theft and money laundering according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Greer, who was hand-picked by Gov. Charlie Crist after helping him get elected in 2006, stepped down in February. Party activists and major donors had called for his resignation over reports of lavish spending on private jets, decadent meals and entertainment.

True..the media will prop up Crist until he wins the primary and then destroy him over it in the general against the dem in Nov.

The typical leftwing media playbook. That’s how we got McCain.

Since they went to his home to arrest him and didn’t wait for him to turn himself in, I’m going to go with rape or assault on some young woman he met in a bar or at a fundraiser.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been investigating Greer after an audit found he awarded himself and his executive director a fundraising contract that paid them about $200,000.

Greer was arrested at his central Florida home Wednesday morning. Calls to the FDLE were not immediately returned. The Seminole County Jail confirmed the arrest.

Greer resigned under pressure in February after reports of lavish spending on private jets, decadent meals and entertainment after party activists and major donors called for his resignation.

he’s become the subject of a criminal investigation for income he earned from Victory Strategies LLC, a fund-raising company that kept 10 percent of all major donations its raised for the party. Greer owned 60 percent of the company.

FDLE announced this morning it would hold a press conference with Commissioner Gerald Bailey and Statewide Prosecutor William Shepherd at 11:30 a.m. in Orlando to “announce a major arrest.”

I wonder if he was offered a job in the Obama administration by Bill Clinton.

Nice metaphoric image... Can you imagine how it would look with a Prius? The (surviving) Rhino would be stomping the (deceased) driver into jelly.

Rick Scott has McCollum’s quotes and the papers plus a recording of McCollum saying no way for AZ in FL.

That won’t matter too much. The media will still try to destroy him and Rubio in order to get the dem elected. They will be torn though (like you said) and will try to be under handed and sly about their intentions.

The party is conducting an audit of all spending under Greer after months of criticism of excessive spending. Greer resigned in February under pressure from top party donors and officials. State and federal investigators are looking into the party spending.

Crist, who hand-picked Greer to run the party, defended Greer through the day he resigned and only called for an investigation when some party statements were leaked...

Agreed. I thought it was obvious with McCain, and the doofus still believes the press he got. The liberal rags have been pushing Crist hard since he went independent.
