Holder snubs McCollum (Florida Atty Gen)

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder didn't invite Florida AG Bill McCollum to his oil-spill meeting with AGs and federal prosecutors from the Gulf Coast.

McCollum was not particularly pleased, judging from the statement his office issued.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to exclude the State of Florida from today's meeting of Attorneys General on the impacts of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is concerning. ... I am disappointed the President and his Attorney General didn't appear to see the Deepwater Horizon incident as a severe threat to Florida's economy and environment, even though according to the latest tracking reports, the oil spill could likely impact our coast within days.

He also had some other harsh words for the Obama Administration -- and pointed to the efforts his office is undertaking to respond to the spill. The full statement:

That’s because McCollum is a Republican. Partisanship and political correctness trump everything in this Administration.

Why would any state attorney general need to be “in the loop” with Mr Holder or his “team”?

Every single state AG can file their own case against BP...and collect billions. I would be keeping my distance from the Holder team, and start preparing for a vast case...worth tens of billions for each state involved (Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida). Every shrimper ought to be kept in the loop and totally compensated. Every tourist hotel along the beach, included as well. And even lifeguards who can’t enjoy their profession ought to be included.

Children are in charge of this administration. They don’t have enough sense to be embarrassed by their own actions.

It's like a 5 years old who won't play with others. They don't care what their duties require. They just won't meet with you if they disagree with the way you carry out your constitutional duties or protect your constituency.

And you don't think this had anything to do with it, do you?

;^D

McCollum had previously expressed concerns that the hurricane season, which began Tuesday, could spread oil further around the Gulf and deeper inland. He has also criticized President Barack Obama's administration for not doing enough to try to get the ongoing spill contained.

Does anyone know the correlation of states Nobama rejects versus states who did not vote for him?

How old are the children of this administration - two or three? Why don’t they all hold their collective breaths until they get their way? Save us all the trouble.

Pure partisanship doesn’t play well when working a national disaster response. The n00b in the White House should realize that.
