Our sources inside the Tea Party Movement tell us that the Tea Parties are planning on using a social media tactic using twitter, facebook and email to create a 'Flash Mob' at the state capitol in the next few days.
The point they say is to gather a group of people (members and interested friends) in the Capitol rotunda to show legislators that the citizens are paying attention.
They say that legislators are well known for slipping through controversial matters in the final days of the session.
The Tea Parties are particularly interested in the potential raid of the state trust funds, the current block on the bill that would stop a legislative per diem raise, a slew of pork barrel projects displacing other necessary expenditures and the general growth of state government.
To quote one of our sources, "its all about fiscal responsibilty and accountablity. If they know we are paying close attention and still vote contrary to our interests, they will pay the price at the polls."

The Tea Party is a good movement with a great message. They don't have to resort to this sort of tactic.
The Baton Rouge group is probably the best organized in the state. Tech savvy, younger - and they've been meeting regularly in committees, etc for over a year.
I completely disagree. That's the ONLY thing the Louisiana Legislature WILL respond to. The teachers unions and public employee unions have been using this tactic for years. It's about damn time our side learned how to do it.
The tea parties are yoking themselves to hoards of violent and destructive youths while trying to convince the MSM that their gatherings are peaceful political speech. That comparison will be made and exploited by the MSM to further demonize what is a very meaningful movement.
These people dont understand the Tea Party movement.
Tea partiers do not belong to any official group, they are not signed up members . They show up when they are ticked off, they behave the way they like because there are no rules of how to behave other than the rules of etiquette followed by better than 95% of them.
Each is an individual, there is no common thread that binds them except the common thread of being screwed by the current administration.
When word of a Tea Party spreads, no one can predict how many people will show up or what mood they may be in.There are no Union printed signs, No union to tell them when to yell and when not to.
Participants are from all walks of life, and they all love America. The way it is, not the Socialist-Communist, Homosexual, wimpish, America this administration is so in love with.
You are suggesting that if we Tea Party types would just be "nicer" then the MSM would start liking us? Ain't happening. I was at the Capitol with this group last April 15. It was very orderly and all, speeches were made, but the media didn't like us even then.
Maybe they’ll pull of a flash mob like the one at Ohio State on 3 May.

Jindal is leading the charge on the trust fund raid.
No, I’m saying your flash mob will be shown side by side with footage of the flash mobs from Philly and other locations where people were assaulted, windows smashed, etc. With any luck the MSM will do you the courtesy of mentioning that the bad footage wasn’t shot at the tea party flash mob. However, if the black guy with the AR-15 in AZ is any indication, they will not.
You have latched onto one of the most negative PR moves you could make. While I have no doubt that the tea partiers will not engage in such behavior, that wouldn’t make a very good story for the news. Good luck.

A "flash mob" is a public gathering organized via text messaging or social networking tools. Generally speaking, what makes it a "flash mob" is that the non-participants at the gathering site don't know about the gathering in advance. A "flash mob" does not have to be unruly or in any way disruptive or unlawful. It does contain an element of surprise but that's it.
I see no reason why conservatives should not hold lawful, peaceful, respectful gatherings that incorporate some element of surprise to create a more fun or dramatic atmosphere. If 15 or 100 conservatives want to suddenly show up somewhere and wave signs or whatever this seems fine to me so long as it is legal and does not interfere with others who are going on about their business.
