Al and Tipper Gore, whose playful romance enlivened Washington and the campaign trail for a quarter century, have decided to separate after 40 years of marriage, the couple told friends Tuesday.
In an Email from Al and Tipper Gore, the couple said: We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate.
This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further.

I agree - sad to see a 40 year marriage go south. Hardly seems worth separating at this point....It reminds me of the old joke about the 96-year olds getting a divorce at that stage in life. They wanted to wait until the children had died...

There’s lots of info out there if you look for it.
She knew her attempts at regulation would not have passed first amendment issues, so it was more attention getting.

I’m talking about both of you actually. If someone is damaged by rock music, they were probably destined to be a loser anyway. I love classic rock and people like you and Tipper aren’t going to stop me from listening to it. It’s issues like this that make people in my age group less likely to support Republicans.

There’s a big difference about warning of the dangers of something and trying to control it, ie stop it’s use. I am for the former and oppose the latter.

Me too. I’m far from straitlaced but I hate to see divorce, especially in a marriage that has been apparently strong for 40 years. It doesn’t matter that the ‘kids are grown’, my own parents divorced after 25 years and our family was never the same, even though my sister and I were grown, out of the house and I was married with children. I never quite got over the loss of my ‘family’.

You seem to be blinded by a pre-concieved notion, which is causing you to defend a radical socialist. Tipper Gore and her PMRC ruse was another excuse for government to infiltrate private industry. She is no better than her soon to be ex-husband. She may be worse, as she did it years earlier. He learned from her.

You don't go traipsing around the earth preaching the gospel of "climate change" without picking up a few groupies. My first thought.

That would be because it is not in any real sense a
marriage. It is a political alliance like in the Mafia
or any other criminal outfit.
