That meddling is about to get even more intense as the Tea Party Express buys two hours next week on the top-rated AM talk station in Las Vegas to promote and fund raise for Angle.
The Tea Party Express "basically told us to go to hell," said Nevada tea party activist Debbie Landis of Reno, whose group, Action Is Brewing, has about 7,000 members on its e-mail list. "They told us, 'Listen, this is none of your business. This has nothing to do with Nevada, this is the Tea Party Express.' In my view, that's not how grassroots is supposed to work."

Action is Brewing is a solid true grassroots org and if you are from NV, know that they do want what is best for NV.
I can't tell if "Controversial" refers to the Tea Party or their selection. Knowing the lamestream media, they couldn't decide either and it probably refers to both.
Why is anything the Right does "controversial" to the media? Have they ever labeled anything by the Left "controversial"?
IMO, TPX should not be endorsing candidates—that was never the purpose of the tea parties. It’s fine to compare candidates in a side by side comparison and then let the people decide which one to vote for.
The entire tea party movement could be ruined by this-—the fact that we aren’t an “organized group” has worked in our favor. I realize that the TPX was put together to bring the great crowds to DC—and that was a good thing.
Now, they just need to cool it.........
Or could the media be trying to sow dissension among the Tea Party ranks?
Jim, Syncro - you two have rode with the TPX, any idea what’s going on?

Sounds like a personality dispute to me. It happens.
The TPX is a PAC. They raise funds for conservative candidates.
Well now, Debbie Landis . . . please tell me how grassroots is supposed to work. In the manner in which Debbie Landis believes it ought to work?
TPX is attempting to co-op the movement under 1 banner aka a national party. People seem to be thinking that a national tea party is the next step. That would be the WORST thing to have happen. That is how we lost the national republican party. It is unnecessary. Communication in this day makes centralizing unneeded. If local and state chapters remain independent the movement can stay true. If a state or local chapter goes RINO or corrupt it won’t take everyone else down. Anyone who tries to centralize the Tea Party Movement should not just be considered with suspicion but should be ignored — step around them — move on without them — etc...

Oh—I didn’t know that—I thought they just got together to have a caravan to DC for the really big and wonderful tea party there—my mistake.
Now I will say that I would prefer that they don’t raise money as an organization for candidates when there are two conservative candidates running in the same race.
We need to continue to have tea parties across the country. One of the finest I ever attended happened in the tiny town of Boerne TX.
They’ve had four or five cross country caravans and have another big one in the planning stages right now. They’re going to be on the road for sixty days prior to the election trying to get the vote out. Just vote them OUT!!
These clowns are going to screw up and allow Reid to keep his job. In the end, that might be their real agenda.
Personally I think all outside groups should support the candidate the people in each district support of simply withhold support if they can’t agree.

not sure I agree, but neither do I know the best answer.
having seen some local TP groups and the self-appointed leaders of them, I foresee problems with the actions of local TP activists tarnishing the benefits of the larger movement...
thousands of local grass-root TP groups HAVE to be coordinated when it comes to state or national candidates...
I don't know how, but you can't have every county or city deciding individually who is the best candidate or you will have anarchy and the concept of A or THE conservative becomes a joke.
If I have mischaracterized the TPX I apologize. I just don’t want to have to fight backroom deals like Newt-Scozzafava.
