Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is canceling a scheduled meeting with Barack Obama at the White House tomorrow to return to Israel to deal with the fallout of the raid by Israeli forces to enforce the Gaza blockade on a flotilla of ships trying to run the blockade, MSNBC reports.

Netanyahu is in Canada today. YNET News reports he is cutting his trip short in Canada to leave for Israel.

appeasing these terrorist supporters might actually TRIGGER the war, not prevent one

History has ONE common Fact....Appeasement ALWAYS leads to war.

What is this — after all the reports that Bibi canceled his trip to Washington, here is a newer news that he is going to go anyway? I wish he wouldn’t... Did Obama threaten him or something?

Netanyahu plans to visit Washington, meet Obama

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to fly to Washington and meet U.S. President Barack Obama despite a crisis over Israel’s storming of a Turkish aid ship bound for Gaza, a spokesman said on Monday.

Netanyahu, in Ottawa for talks with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, had been due to meet Obama on Tuesday.

“It’s very important that we sit down with friends and allies and discuss issues of mutual concern and there are plans to continue on to Washington, to that planned meeting with President Obama,” Netanyahu spokesman Mark Regev told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp from Israel.

Something bigger may be coming. Remember the last Infitada was supposedly triggered when Sharon visited the Temple Mount. The Pali’s were already 100% ready and just needed an excuse.

Netanyahu cancels White House visit

CHICAGO — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has cancelled a scheduled meeting with President Barack Obama Tuesday in the wake of Israeli military action to block a flotilla bringing aid to the Gaza Strip. At least 10 people were killed in the attack.

Netanyahu, who was in Canada Monday for a meeting with Prime Minister Stephen Harper, said he gave the military operation his “full backing” and cancelled his meeting with Obama so he could return to Israel. “Netanyahu decided to cut short his visit to Canada and return to Israel early,” said a statement from the Israeli government, as reported by Reuters.

The White House responded to Israel’s decision to attack the flotilla by saying the administration is working to learn more about the incident and expressing regret for the deaths.

“The United States deeply regrets the loss of life and injuries sustained, and is currently working to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragedy,” Deputy White House press secretary Bill Burton said in a statement.

Obama, who has been in Chicago for the weekend, was at the gym Monday morning as the Israeli government announced that Netanyahu had cancelled their meeting. Obama heads to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill. later Monday morning to participate in a Memorial Day ceremony and deliver remarks. The president is scheduled to return to Washington Monday evening.

Netanyahu: “I Quit!”

Obama, caught off guard: “You can’t quit! I’m firing you! You get back here so I can fire you! I ORDER you to obey me!”

The dateline on the Reuters story is two hours ago (OTTAWA
Mon May 31, 2010 9:00am EDT). I guess Reuters hasn’t caught up with the rest of the wires.

After the horrible way Obama (mis) treated Bibi during their last meeting in Washington, I’m surprised that Netanyahu was planning to met with Barry in the first place.

Exactly.

As always the Pali’s hide behind women and children in the course of importing weapons to the heart of Israel.

This is always coupled with the omnicient, objective reporter assuring the world “Israel started it....”

I guess BB has to meet with Obama sooner or later but I’d sure like to see BB refuse to visit without assurance that he be treated as a head of state, with dignity and without insulting behavior from the U.S. president.

Obama’s treatment of BB is, without a doubt, the most outrageous behavior from our President and one that has reenforced my negative view of Obama more than any other incident.

“It would have been even more fun, though, if (in the absence of this incident) Bibi had simply announced, “We don’t have any meaningful business to discuss, so I don’t want to interfere with Mr. Obama’s fixing the oil-well leak.”

...or his vacations, or his golf game, or his hoops game, or his fund-raisers, or his state dinners, or his catting around with another man/woman(unlikely, I mean the woman part.)!

“Obama’s stance of appeasing these terrorist supporters might actually TRIGGER the war, not prevent one.”

I think it’s worse than that. I think obama would order a preemptive nuclear attack on Israel if he thought that Israel had to resort to nuclear weapons to defend itself - who could doubt that he would extend our “nuclear umbrella” to his muslim allies against America’s real allies?
