Jerusalem, 31 May (AKI) - At least 10 people were killed early Monday when Israeli forces stormed a boat carrying pro-Palestinian activists attempting to break a blockage of Gaza, Israeli military officials said. Four soldiers were injured when they boarded six ships at 4:30 am, the military added.
"We did not attack any boat, we merely fulfil the Israeli government's decision to prevent anyone from going into the Gaza strip without coordinating with Israel," a statement from the Israeli military said. "The flotilla is a provocation made to de-legitimize Israel. Had they really wanted to deliver the cargo into Gaza they could have done so via Israel as it is done on a daily basis." The convoy of boats approached Gaza in defiance of an Israeli blockade and had been shadowed by three Israeli warships. Free Gaza had reported Sunday that they had been contacted by the Israeli navy. Israel says it was willing to let the boat deliver aid supplies after the goods were vetted for security reasons. The boats left European ports in a consolidated protest organized by two pro-Palestinian groups to deliver tons of food and other aid to Gaza to break a blockade imposed by Israel in 2007. Turkish media reported two dead and 50 injured in the incident as the flotilla approached the Gaza coast. Free Gaza co-founder Greta Berlin told Al Jazeera English that its lawyers in Israel informed her that 10 people have been killed and many others injured. She told the BBC that there was no provocation that merited a violent response. The flotilla was carrying around 800 pro-Palestinian activists from various countries, as well as 10,000 tons of construction material, medical equipment and school supplies, according to a news report. It is by far the largest fleet of aid to try to reach Gaza since Israel and Egypt began restricting the flow of goods into and out of the territory in 2007 after Hamas seized control. Most of the violence occurred on a Turkish ship that was delivering aid with the tacit support of Turkey's government, the BBC reported. |
And another in the Gulf of Mexico. If I were a paranoid sort, I'd say the Deepwater disaster could not have happened at a worse time unintentionally. It will distract and weaken America for the next year at least. However, until solid evidence manifests, I'll say it was probably just Satan. Likewise the Korean situation.
Nevertheless, it's all very useful to those who are trying to start the war to end Israel.
Assuming that the would-be blockade runners did not expect to get through I would expect that the cargo will turn out to be all peaceable goods though I expect some shipboard armaments will or have been found a couple of rifles and the like.I think it were better had the moho crews fired on the Israelis with a couple of RPGs and a machine gun. They, perhaps we would hear about the salvage operation to see what they had actually been carrying.
Turkey is preparing to send more convoys escorted by warships and fighter aircraft
You gotta do whatever it takes. It’s them or the Israelis.
It’s them or us, too, folks.
The Israelis don’t have their heads in the sand like our Western “leaders”, refusing to look at or deal with a military attack cloaked in a “religion”.
The IDF should have fabricated a mini-homing torpedo for these contingencies. It would go for the propellers, and instead of expolosives it would unspool clouds of thin kevlar and wire lines to foul the props and stop the ships.
The IDF pioneered UAVs with mini missiles that only destroy one car without breaking windows across the street. You would think they would have had a technical answer for these ships, short of the FUBAR spectacle of boarding them with commandos, on film.
And the war came....... As a test, try to buy some steel made in the US today.
Kill the rudder and props far out to sea. There were 6 boats and you disable them all. You wait for them to beg to be towed into a legitimate port of entry. If they don’t do that then you tow them into port
Now that's just crazy talk! Everybody knows that "all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation" so there's nothing to worry about right?...right?
Exactly. But you need a special covert weapon for that. It would take a few weeks to design and test it, using available mini decoy torps as the chassis.
G-d loves Israel with an everlasting love, and it is He who gives Israel the wisdom to care for herself.
The flotilla was carrying around 800 pro-Palestinian activists from various countries,
..
I’m sure they all have their papers in order.
a group of 800,, how many ‘militants’ aka activists got thru.. and get thru?

Israel sort of reminds me of Isaac Asimov’s “Foundation”, with their superior technical know-how.
I was thinking “harpoons and tow-cables”, but your idea is better.
Also, they could sink it slowly with a 50 caliber bullet, and provide rubber life-boats.
I wouldn't call one commando coming down a rope to an angry mob as "storming".
PLEASE CITE A SOURCE FOR THIS.
I don't believe the Turks are that stupid...a deliberate provocation of WAR with Israel? They will lose every asset they commit.
Here is a video of the event.
Notice who starts the violence.
