Change in thinking would be bad sign Sunday, May 30, 2010 02:59 AM
Why has there been no reporting on what has to be one of the bigger organized theft operations in recent memory? I would estimate that hundreds of homeowners have been victimized in Upper Arlington, where I live, as well as in the surrounding suburbs and the city of Columbus.
I believe the thefts began sometime shortly after the presidential election in 2008. It was then that I noticed that all those houses whose owners proudly had displayed signs reading Support the Troops; End the War were suddenly missing their signs.
Now, I had been out of town a good bit and thought I might have missed the news that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan had ended, and that might be the reason for the disappearance. But now I find out that the wars are still very much ongoing.
And since I know that my peace-loving neighbors would never use the lives of American service members as advertising fodder for a political statement, I must assume theft as the only possible cause for the missing signs.
Perhaps someone should notify the police. Ask for the Bureau of Hypocrisy Investigations.

Ohio ping!
Given the pathetic rules of engagement designed by this lamebrain President, I am ready to put up a sign saying
SUPPORT THE TROOPS
END THE WAR
Maybe it was homeless people. They suddenly disappeared about the same time...
