As if it wasn't shameless enough to rent the house next door to the Palins in Wasilla while he works on a Palin-exposing book, liberal author Joe McGinniss starred in a Saturday Washington Post report by David Weigel about how he's a good neighbor, but he's learned that Palin's "ability to incite hatred." He might not want to ask for that cup of sugar:
McGinniss added that he had been a responsible neighbor, shooing off a pair of Minnesota tourists who stepped onto his property to take photos of the Palins' home.
"Look, this is a pain in the ass for them," he said. "I understand that. If I were her, I'd be upset. I'd be annoyed. But I'd be an adult about it, and I would figure out, okay, how can we resolve this in a way that's not going to make this into something that everybody gets obsessive about? By being here, I have learned things, and I've gotten an insight into her character, into her ability to incite hatred, that before I only knew about in the abstract."

It looks like we're going to have another juvenile rich guy.
Someone should write an unauthorized story about Weigel stalking Palin.
answer.....pitbills, lots of them loose in the yard
This guy is beyond idiocy . . .
I’d guess that even liberals, the less crazy ones at least, are able to see what a douche this guy is.
Ever notice how these libs never move into minority neighborhoods?
What’s wrong, Joe, might not be welcome there either?
This guy’s next pronouncement will be that Palin is spying on him through his television set.
Joe is only days into this self-assigned mission. His delusions and hatred are already eating him up. He’s whining, he’s paranoid—installing “security equipment” and imagining conservative keystroke loggers monitoring him.
At some point in the near future, imho, Random House is going to recognize things aren’t going exactly as planned and will try to cut their losses.
Traffic jam at the end of his driveway.
He also has the classic personality disordered mindset. No matter what he does to her or how he abuses her, it’s her fault.
Nightly sweeping laser beams on the walls of his house.
I thought Jeffrey McDonald was just bitter because McGinniss had him pegged. Now I’m wondering if he had a point. What a piece of work this guy is.
This is the sleaziest and most provocative thing a so-called writer, “Joe McGinnis”, who once had a career, could do, moving into a house NEXT DOOR to his would-be subject.
Indeed, it almost seems DESIGNED to incite hatred, FOR HIM.
His “shooing away” tourists is supposed to make him look like her defender, instead it just makes him, the ultimate tourist , look rather insane.
If I were her, or the Palin family, I might go to court about it. But lately she’s probably spent so little time there, she may not even care.....
THis guy has basically made himself into the literary version of TMZ. He’s doing this on behalf of all those Palin-haters who need to keep her surrounded, and off-balance. This is how he thinks he going to re-establish his celebrity, but it’s only going to make him look like the pathetic schnook he is. This stuff ALWAYS backfires. And what is to be gained AS A WRITER from living next door is impossible to imagine. Unless he’s electronically spying, which would be facilitated by the proximity. Has anyone asked that question?
I hope he gets what's coming to him.
What I would really like to see is an investigative story on people like Joe McGinniss, look into their background, harass their families, expose the skeletons in their closets. After all, turnabout is fair game.
That goes for all people in the press that use their "profession" to destroy the lives and reputations of folks whose only crime is their conservativism.
Ooooh, I like that idea. I wonder if he knew before he went up there that Alaskan mosquitoes are a form of predatory bird life? Hope he has good screens on the windows. It would be such a pity if some of them developed tears or holes.
Karma is going to have its way with the hellspawn libbie blogger. The Palins did nothing to him to deserve whatever crap he tries to bring down on them.
I think the problem is that he doesn’t hate her at all. His son has been quoted as saying that his father told him that if the Palin marriage broke up he hoped he would be there to pick up the pieces.
Random House made a big mistake in subsidizing this creepy stalker under the guise of him writing a book about Sarah.
Can't say I was surprised.
And now “Peeping Joe McGinniss” is whining?
