Judicial Watch Statement on Sestak Scandal
Thu May 27, 2:40 pm ET

WASHINGTON, May 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton issued the following statement today regarding the federal position allegedly offered by the Obama White House to Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA). Rep. Sestak has claimed repeatedly that the Obama White House tried to persuade him to abandon his Democratic primary challenge to Senator Arlen Specter by offering a high-level position in the Obama administration.

Rep. Sestak's allegations are extremely serious and yet we've heard nothing from the Obama White House so far but vague denials of wrongdoing and outright stonewalling.

It's time for everyone involved in this scandal to come clean. There is simply no wiggle room. Either Sestak lied about the federal job offer or someone at the White House likely committed a felony. It's that simple.

Attorney General Eric Holder's refusal to appoint a special counsel in the matter is a disgrace and will not stand.

This latest bribery allegation reflects a disturbing pattern by the Obama White House. We still don't have all the details about involvement of Obama administration officials in the sale of Obama's former Illinois U.S. Senate seat by Rod Blagojevich. And we still don't have answers about the charge that Obama Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina offered a federal job to Colorado Democratic Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff to keep him out of the Senate race. There is also the report that President Obama tried to push disgruntled White House Counsel Greg Craig out of the White House by offering a federal judgeship on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. And now we have Joe Sestak.

Yet another unpaid position?

Giving up a high profile US Senate seat for an obscure unpaid position on an advisory board. Strains credibility to say the least.

And we never will find about the truth on any of this unless we get the House and Senate. Still we will need at least 60 in the Senate to be really effective. It might be many years before we could do anything and by then so old it will be forgotten with all the efforts to overturn all the corrupt legislation these communists had and will continue to get passed.

IF Holder appointed a Special Prosecutor, it would probably be a dolt in the manner of Marcia Clark, the idiot that let O.J. get away.

That he wouldn’t even be eligible for in the first place. Apparently the board they wanted him to serve on, while remaining in the House, is for CITIZENS ONLY. Not for government officials.

We get another half-dozen of these and it will just be an everyday occurence; what’s the big deal anyway - isn’t it their turn to shuffle?

The slime stream media position on this will be, it is a stupid law and must be repealed, unless, it will get Karl Rove.

Congress can go back to it after November, no?

It’s not that the position is for citizens only, it’s that the Constitution prohibits sitting members of Congress from holding any other office during their term; that includes positions on advisory boards.

If the House goes GOP in November, then Issa, who would be chairman of the Gov Ops committee, not only the guy who sets the committee agenda re: investigations, but with full subpoena power, will assuredly look into to it, along with his continuing interest in the CCX scheme.
