Whether it’s a reflection of “intelligence” or not, I don’t know. But here is what I DO know:

Over time, Greta’s show has become the most informative on Fox, and thus a favorite of mine. Why?

She is able to get the interviews that no one else on Fox seems to get. She was the first to get in depth interviews with Ben Nelson (Cornhusker Kickback), Mary Landriew (Louisiana Purchase) and Olympia Snowe (RINO). These were all in-depth, multi-part interviews (with additional footage on her website). No national sources that I’m aware of, got these kinds of interviews with these people before she did.

Greta is phenomenally well prepared for her interviews, and I suspect it comes from her legal background. She asks the question that is on the tip of the tongue of her viewer.

Unlike Hannity and BOR, she lets her interview subject talk, and does not try to run them over with her own opinion.

One cannot determine her political leanings by her demeanor only. (She is rumored to be a Democrat, albeit a conservative one; her spouse was a HRC operative). That said, she strikes me as a fiscal conservative, “good-gov’t” sort.

She has impeccable manners and bearing when conducting an interview with a gov’t official or guest. Tough, but fair. For this reason, I’m thinking, she is able to get people from all sides of the political aisle. To the best of my knowledge, despite all this publicity about the AZ law, she is the only one that has been able to interview Gov. Brewer on camera multiple times. She hasn’t been on BOR or Hannity, that’s for sure.

She also covers economic and international affairs in depth, which others do not.

Consider me a fan of Greta’s.

True. Greta is one of the only hosts on fox I watch. I like her a lot, especially her demeanor.

I agree with all you stated, I would add that I was relieved to see her get away from the husband kills wife story and the natalie halloway story. Her show is far better with the balance of crime and political news of the day. I love her interviews that take us to see Bush’s Texas and Palin’s Alaska. She has come into her own and is awesome. She needs to shake off anyone who would call her names. They are not worth it.

What an eloquent articulate post!

What worries me about GS is her tendency to latch onto whatever the public deems as the "Latest Thing," and then run with it non-stop, (e.g., Beth & her daughter Natalee Holloway.)

Also, I've read in years past that her husband is a staunch Dem who has contributed lots & lots of financial support.

There are earlier FR threads about GS which contain all the particulars.

Agree completely! I first saw Greta on another network during the OJ trial and I thought then that she was very intelligent, but presumed that she was a liberal. I do not watch her show that frequently, but I do so enough that I have seen her become more conservative as time passes. She is smart enough to have seen the lack of depth of most liberal arguments once she had the opportunity to examine both sides.

I know many on this board criticized her coverage of the Natalie Holloway saga, but it WAS in the news at the time and her background in the law compelled her to try to get to the bottom of it. I also think that she had a real concern and sympathy for Natalie's family. Also, she was always very fair in her interviews with and comments about Sarah Palin and I believe Greta honestly likes and admires her.

Agree with your assessment completely. Back when I had tv, Greta was one of the hosts I respected the most on FOX. The best shows on FOX get the lowest ratings, and the worst shows on FOX get the best ratings.

Greta’s show is more relaxed and in depth so I like it. I like her standing interviews where she and her subject stand.

Other shows are too frantic and ADD oriented. Bill O’Reilly brings on too many Fox people to comment

When she first started so many years ago I didn't watch her. Period...end of story.
However, I've warmed to her somewhat over the intervening years. Some of her questions/interviews are lightweight, yet, overall, she gives some of the best interviews out there, IMO, on a nightly basis.

She should pay no attention to the harpies and just continue to do her job well.

I agree, your assessment is correct.

She’s definitely smarter than O’Reilley but she should not make the mistake of getting caught up with emails from the “Bathroom Walls of the Universe” or what others call the Internet. Too much verbal pollution.

Greta is the only Fox commentator I take seriously. She sharp, well prepared and a real journalist.

I am bringing to hate Fox news, it is nothing but one advertisement after another. Except for Greta I've stop watching Fox.

Her husband was a big Dem but now a Palin supporter. Both are Scientologists so I dismiss them completely as naive cultists. Nobody, repeat nobody, in their right mind can support Scientology.

"Unlike Hannity and BOR, she lets her interview subject talk, and does not try to run them over with her own opinion."

I agree with all your post but especially the above. Hannity is unwatchable as he mows over his guest just as they start to answer his questions.
